  • Is there legal action someone can take?

A very good friend of mine has recently (last week) undergone surgery to have 80% of her cervix removed, and to have pieces of her uterus biopsied to check for cancer.

This has become necessary because her ex boyfriend (that she lived with for 1+ year) cheated on her and transferred an HPV infection on to her.

He has continued to have sex with various women unprotected and spread the infection to more than likely countless others.

Now that the HPV hase progressed as it has, my friend will no longer be able to bear children (even through intrauterine methods), and could quite possibly lead to many other issues for her down the road.

My friend is only 21 years old and until a month ago she was dealing quite well with the infection, managed on medication, and still had huge hopes of having her own children someday.

Is there any for of legal action that she can take against him?

  • Sudden change in toddler?

My daughter is 2 years old and I have had no issues with her sleep pattern since she was 2 months old. However in the last few nights she wakes up for seemingly no reason and refuses to stop screaming until we bring her to our bed.

I understand that kids change but this is ridiculous, she has NEVER been a co-sleeper and usually does not like being snuggled in that close.

Last night this started shortly after midnight, she did not fall asleep until almost 6am, so now I am dealing with a tired cranky toddler that refuses to nap and screams at everything I say to her.

I am also currently 31 weeks pregnant so this is very difficult for me to handle.

I tried changing her, seeing if it was hunger, and giving her something to drink... nothing would appease her. I would appreciate answers that don't try to tell me that schedules change and blah blah blah. I don't care how much things can change, there is NO reason that she won't sleep if she's tired.

  • Pregnant and confused about sex?

I am now 30 weeks and 4 days pregnant.

I have been having a difficult time getting (and staying) aroused for sex.

My husband tells me he loves my body and that i'm sexy, but i hate everything about my body.

aside from occasionally checking on me in the shower, my husband has not seen me naked for almost 2 months.

I feel confused, I want to 'want' sex... but I don't know what to do...

I would like any advice on this please...

  • very bad abdominal discomfort?

I am 30 weeks pregnant and the last 2 days I have been experiencing very bad abdominal discomfort accompanied by stomach/uterine tightening. I can only describe it as severe gas pain, however very little gas is actually happening.

It seems to be an evening thing and I try to relax but I can only do so much with a 2 year old running around.

They are not Braxton Hicks (happens more than just a few times an hour), and it is not a bladder infection (recently was treated for infection). Pre term labor also seems unlikely due to the fact that it seems to stop after a few hours and I have had no bleeding or excessive clear fluid discharge.

This is my second pregnancy, but I did not have any of these feelings during my first... I appreciate any useful answers, cheers.

  • pregnant and abdominal discomfort?

i am 21 weeks pregnant now and today i am having some major discomfort on the right side of my lower abdomen.

i'm not overly concerned as of the moment and i don't want to over react because i know that will only make things worse.

i would go to the walk in or emerg but i have my 2 year old to take care of with no child care option available for today.

i am not bleeding or in severe pain, things just don't feel right and i would like to know why.

  • wanting to hear babies heartbeat?

i have heard my babies heartbeat twice now (just over 19 weeks pregnant) but my hubby has had to work so he hasn't been able to come to my doctor appointments.

i live in north bay ontario and want to know where i can find an at home device that will allow us to listen in whenever we want?

i also think that my toddler will be able to better understand that there is a baby in mommy's tummy if she can hear it too.

  • pregnant and quitting smoking?

i am 18 weeks pregnant and have been struggling with quitting smoking. i tried cold turkey but didn't last :( i welcome any advice. i know the health of my baby should be enough motivation to get me to quit but i just haven't been able to. i smoke less than half a pack a day, and will sometimes go 2-3 days without.

i wasn't able to quit with my first pregnancy either. she is 100% healthy and has been since birth

  • i don't feel this is wrong?

my daughter is nearly 2 years old and has started this wonderful habit of occasionally screaming, hitting, and throwing things. now, when she hits me i give her a tap back (on the back of the hand she used to hit me) if she screams i put a finger over her mouth and tell her no, and if she throws something (she usually wants it back after she's thrown it) i take it away from her.

my ex (her father) witnessed me tap her hand after she smacked me in the face. he freaked out and now is telling me that i (her mother) am not ALLOWED to do these things.

i grew up in a house where me and both my brother got spanked and we all turned out fine. him and his brother got away with everything growing up and neither of them are going anywhere in life...

what am i supposed to do?

p.s. i just want to make it clear that i have NEVER laid a finger on my child out of anger, only discipline, and it makes me almost cry every time
