  • Breaking news...NASA and NOAA altered climate data for political reasons?

    http://www.naturalnews.com/045695_global_warming_f...

    Excerpt....

"Now, in what might be the largest scientific fraud ever uncovered, NASA and the NOAA have been caught red-handed altering historical temperature data to produce a "climate change narrative" that defies reality. This finding, originally documented on the Real Science website, is detailed here.

We now know that historical temperature data for the continental United States were deliberately altered by NASA and NOAA scientists in a politically-motivated attempt to rewrite history and claim global warming is causing U.S. temperatures to trend upward. The data actually show that we are in a cooling trend, not a warming trend (see charts below).

This story is starting to break worldwide right now across the media, with The Telegraph now reporting (1), "NOAA's US Historical Climatology Network (USHCN) has been 'adjusting' its record by replacing real temperatures with data 'fabricated' by computer models."

  • Could we travel the universe in one lifetime?

Why are we fiddling around with missions to Mars or the Moon when we could be travelling the universe? Is it time to dream big again?

According to this author,we could travel the universe within one human lifetime in a spaceship that travels at a constant 1 G acceleration....page 378

Magic Universe: A Grand Tour of Modern Science

    By Nigel Calder

    http://books.google.com/books?id=kbPmQX-OoBgC&pg=P...

And this engineer proposes a ship like the Enterprise that could be built in 20 years.

"Engineer Thinks We Could Build a Real Starship Enterprise in 20 Years

"In Star Trek lore, the first Constitution Class Starship Enterprise will be built by the year 2245. But today, an engineer has proposed — and outlined in meticulous detail – building a full-sized, ion-powered version of the Enterprise complete with 1G of gravity on board, and says it could be done with current technology, within 20 years. “We have the technological reach to build the first generation of the spaceship known as the USS Enterprise – so let’s do it,” writes the curator of the Build The Enterprise website, who goes by the name of BTE Dan.

This “Gen1” Enterprise could get to Mars in ninety days, to the Moon in three, and “could hop from planet to planet dropping off robotic probes of all sorts en masse – rovers, special-built planes, and satellites.”

  • Followup question...Is some global warming due to increased radio and TV broadcasts in the past century?

Thanks for all the previous answers to my question but I have more references to a possible correlation between various radio wave frequencies and global warming. According to the French satellite DEMETER project ......,

" The Power Line Harmonic Radiation (PLHR) is the ELF and VLF waves radiated by electric power systems at the harmonic frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz. Evidence of PLHR Propagation in the magnetosphere was first observed on ground. However direct observations by satellites are rather rare [6] and shown in few papers "

    .........

"All the observations indicate that PLHR influences the atmosphere?ionosphere?magnetosphere coupling. On one hand, non linear interactions between electrons and PLHR can participate in the precipitation of electrons from the slot region in the radiation belts, on the other hand, main part of the PLHR energy dissipates in the lower ionosphere and modifies the ionospheric currents. This problem now requires serious attention because the electrical power consumption is always increasing in the world."

    ...........

"All these wave dissipations in the ionosphere could participate to the global warming of the Earth because the change in global temperature increases the number of natural lightning discharges in the atmosphere. "

    http://www.lpce.cnrs-orleans.fr/www_experim/experi...

The websites cites various science papers on man-made and natural (earthquakes) sources of disturbances to the ionosphere or magnetosphere.

So my questions remain...is it possible or likely that man-made sources of EM emissions from radio, TV, power lines, etc.. or even an increase in intensity or frequency of earthquakes can cause some global warming? If we dismiss them as a possible source of warming and concentrate on CO2 or GHG- related carbon taxes or cap/trade policies or convert to electric vehicles en masse with the resultant increase in powerlines/electrical energy transmission, how might it affect warming? Are we barking up the wrong tree without knowing the true cause..if any...of AGW?

I'd prefer answers with scientific reference sources... pro and con.. or any related climate science links. Many thanks to all that respond.

  • Is some global warming due to increased radio and TV broadcasts in the past century?

I ran across a website which proposes that radio and TV waves and energy broadcast over the last century have affected the atmosphere or ozone layers and caused some global warming...graphs show a correlation between radio-- TV broadcasts over time and temp data.

Now this isn't a HAARP question...I'm just wondering if anyone has any relevant thoughts or research which refers to atmospheric affects from increased use of radio/TV, etc.. How much energy per year is directed into the sky by the use of radio and TV signals or any other devices and how would this affect ozone or precipitation or water vapor levels as the site claims? Do climate models account for increased EM effects?

  • Was the moon closer to earth in the recent past?

According to Velikovsky, some research suggests the ancient Babylonians and others saw the moon as being nearly as bright and nearly a third larger in reference to the sun. With all the cratering on the moon, I 'm wondering if anyone has ever calculated how much it's orbit was changed due to those impacts. How do we know when that cratering/impacts occurred?

    "A Brighter Moon

Many traditions persist that at some time in the past the Moon was much brighter than it is now, and larger in appearance than the Sun."

"In order that the Sun and the Moon should give off comparable light, the Moon must have had an atmosphere with a high albedo (refracting power)(5) or it must have been much closer to the earth. In the latter case the Moon would have appeared larger than the Sun. In fact, the Babylonian astronomers computed the visible diameter of the Sun as only two-thirds of the visible diameter of the Moon, which makes a relation of four to nine for the illuminating surfaces. This measure surprised modern scholars, who are aware of the exactness of the measurements made by the Babylonian astronomers and who reason that during the eclipses one can easily observe the approximate equality of the visible disks.(6) "

  • Did God have a physical form before Jesus?

According to Genesis 3, Adam and Eve heard God walking in the Garden of Eden. Was this Jesus or the Father? According to Jewish beliefs, God is incorporeal...having no physical form. Since this passage is taken from the Tanakh, how is this interpreted by Jews or Christians? Anyone care to offer an explanation...particularly from a Jewish perspective?

    Genesis 3:8 Young's Literal Translation

And they hear the sound of Jehovah God walking up and down in the garden at the breeze of the day, and the man and his wife hide themselves from the face of Jehovah God in the midst of the trees of the garden.

  • How many ancient megalithic building sites used a form of iron or metal "staples" to hold large stones togethe

I've seen this method used in Angkor Wat, Tiahuanaco, Egyptian Pyramids, etc.. and I wonder how all these different cultures came up with the same methods. Pure chance? Or an ancient method that somehow was spread around the world.

  • Axmen question for loggers...wouldn't it be easier and more eficient to drag logs DOWN the mountain?

After watching the series on the History Channel, it struck me that the method seems inefficient to use all that power to drag trees up a hill rather than down...using gravity. Is there a reason for this or just historically, that's the way it's been done?

Also, would it be more efficient to hook up the downed logs to cables first and then attach them to the carriage without waiting for it's return to run the cables over to the logs? You could alternate sending empty cables from the yarder or skyline to the log areas and immediately hook up the already cabled logs for retrieval.

Just a few efficiency questions I had...thanks for the input.

  • Eco-demolition? Energy production?

Is anyone working on means to recapture the energy that goes into building large structures like setting up a hoist attached to a generator that would be powered by demolition materials lowered to the ground? Seems like an awful lot of energy is just wasted and not recaptured that went into the original construction. Same thing goes for felling trees...how much energy could be derived from a system of running a generator that is hooked up to cables and falling trees. Watching the Ax Men series and controlled demolition got me thinking of it. Maybe I'm onto a new source of energy?
