If someone gives you unused coupons at the checkout line, does this mean that they are flirting with you?
I saw that the lady in front of me bought 2 items which I had coupons for but didn't want to use them so I offered them her. After I left the store my wife said that because she said she was buying the sodas for her husband, she was responding as though I was trying to flirt with her. Is this what women really think when somebody simply says, "I have some coupons that I am not going to use, would you like to have them?"
10 AnswersEtiquette9 years agoI know it is a violation of Teamsters member to rat out a fellow teamster member.?
What is the officail word on this? We have a fellow Teamster who takes pride in back searching other shifts to find petty errors so he can run to management and report them. He also be-littles other Teamster Members by calling them idiots, "the idiot shift", and "f-ups from the other shift." We are not talking about major violations, some have been petty as emptying a trash can without putting a new liner in them. (I did this, wasn't my area but decided to do this because can was running over, management keeps liners under lock and key. He reported me to management the very next morning.) This is a daily occurance and we would like to see it end. Thanks!
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoIf a elderly parent living in your home dies, who is responsible for paying the funeral costs?
This is assuming that there is not enough money or equity in the estate. He doesn't have any life insurance because my brother and sister told him to cancel it. I was concerned because my dad is living with my wife and I. When my mother died there was about $13,000 worth of bills for hospital, ambalance and funeral expenses. My dad is making payments on these. He said that if he dies medicaid will take care of all his bills and this is why my siblings said to cancel the insurance. We can't afford $13000 if he dies and I can't rely on my siblings to help us pay either. This is why I talked him into getting a $15,000 life insurance policy as part of the agreement for moving in with us. Now because he listened to them he doesn't have this coverage. My sister is his power of attorney and my brother is his executor yet neither one would let dad move in with them. They feel as though we are taking advantage of dad, trying to profit from dad's future dealth. My sister controls his finances.
5 AnswersInsurance1 decade agoOur Union ended, according to the bylaws the money left is suppose to go bck to the body, who decides how?
There is nothing in the bylaws which states how it is suppose to be divided. There is only 1 1/2 years worth of dues in the bank. Older members are saying itt should be divided by number of years an employee is in the Union. Ths would mean the largest portion will go to the older members while the yonger members won't get hardly anything. Is this legal? Since it has only 1 1/2 years of dues most of us believe it should be split equally amoung all members, we believe that doing otherwise is just a way of stealing money from all those who contributed to the union. Any advice?

1 AnswerOther - Education1 decade agoWho do I contact for workplace harrassment?
I am currently working for a company who has an employee who is verbally abusive to me and has been for about two years, since I started. I have reported every abusive situation to the supervisors and they fear that if they reprimand him, the employee will file a law suit against the company. They have discovered that he has done this in the past. The problem is, he has been verbally abusive to all the other employees on our shift and our supervisor. He has even shoved another supervisor duing an altercation in another department. The company out of fear of a lawsuit from him and the Union will not handle the situation. He has made numerous accusations that have been proven wrong and outright lies in order to turn other employees against each other. One of his accusations has even involved our supervisor and a fellow employee to lose two days work without pay. The company was supposed to give a letter of reprimand to him for filing false accusations, they never did. How I know, this was when he went to the Union president demanding that the letter be put in his file. I feel that he is purposely trying to be fired so he could file a lawsuit.
My problem is, two days a week I have to work with him without a supervisor on duty. During these days he has verbally abused me, cursing at me, and calling me a "****** Christian." He has made numerous accusation against me telling the union and the other shift employees that I am using my cell phone to record and video tape their conversations. Not only is this not true, my cell phone does not have any such features. Since I have confronted the Union about the problems I've been having, they also refuse to do anything. I continued to report the problem to the supervisors. Just recently the Union voted to install new regulations which say that if anybody goes to management to report a problem they will be fined a fee equivilent to one years union dues which is about $500.00. So in other words, even though everybody knows about the problem, I am not allowed to report any problems to management, therefore I don't have any recourse if this person's abuse continues or even worsens. On December 17th, I endured 30 mins of verbal abuse with name calling and cursing. I informed my employer that I don't know what else to do and that I want to transfer somewhere else with the same pay because the situation between us is only getting worse and I felt very threatened and I fear that physical violence may be next.
My question is : If the company doesn't do anything to resolve this situation what is my next choice of option since I do not want to quit? Also, I want to know what is the legality of the ruling the union put into the bylaws preventing an employee from reporting such actions?
