I have been troubleshooting Laptops, Desktops & Software issues for over 7 years. I work as a Systems Coordinator for 5 Central London Hotels since 2008. Most of my answers come with Links of source and proper facts rather than nonsense. I am happy to troubleshoot any problems you may have. I enjoy cycling; love photography and enjoying time out.

  • I am looking for a Graphics Card?

Hey everyone, I am looking for a reasonably priced graphic card which will top my current card now. Over 3 years ago I had bought a Asus EN8800GT - http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/1393/asus_en8800g...

I am sure there is something out there that has more GPU power and performance than the one above. Ideally my budget is under £100 but I will consider all thoughts. I have not been familiarising myself with graphic cards over the last few years, therefore I do not know what models I should be looking at.

Thanks everyone in advance for your answers

  • What Hard Drive do I need to make my computer faster?

So I am looking for a new hard drive. I am looking for something that will definitely speed up my boot time; as well as speed us the access of applications. I currently own a 300GB WD, don't remember which version; but it is over 3 years old now, and I am sure there are better, faster hard drives out there now. I have been so out of the look recently that I am not sure what is best. I am looking at SATA ideally but if SSD is really the way forward I am not sure whether it is worth the price. Thanks everyone in advance for your answers.

  • What LED Monitor do I need?

I am looking for an LED Monitor. Primarily for Movies and Secondly for Photography and Games. I already have a Samsung 2232bw since 3 years and looking to upgrade to a 24" --> 27". For the 25" I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... which is not necessarily LED, but will I see a big difference between this one and an LED. If so please explain so I can understand what I am looking for when it comes to a monitor. My budget is up to 350 Euros or 300 Pounds.

I also saw this one http://www.pixmania.com/fr/fr/4546211/art/hp/ecran...

I am looking for a monitor with support for HDMI as I have a HTPC at home with Bluray.

Just let me know what you find. Cheers

  • What Macbook Games are available for me to have fun with?

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2ghz

    Memory: 2gb

Display: Intel GMA 950 64mb of Shared System memory

What kind of games can I play with this kind of system and using what tools. I have Cross Over Games but would it be better for me to install the latest bootcamp with Windows XP and install games that way or will crossover work.

I am just looking for games, for those long journeys and what not. Any help and advice would be much appreciated, but no criticism. Cheers

  • Nikon d60 Flashgun needed?

    Hi everyone,

I am an amateur photographer that was offered to be a wedding photographer for a friend next year. Gladly I took the opportunity as they are not able to afford one so this will be my present to them. I have most of the gear except a proper flashgun. My budget is on the low at the minute. Can anyone tell me what kind of flashgun I may need for outside/inside wedding; I am open to all suggestions. Even if the item you say is the best and it is out of my budget I will definitely consider saving up for it. Do provide links to photography websites worth buying gear from. Thank you

  • Re-Patching the Network?

    Good day to you all,

I am here today to pick on your brains because I am out of ideas and having a few hundred more people look into this other than me is always a good thing. I only want answers from users that have a network background.

Basically our patch panels are a mess and we need to re-patch everything? It'll cost us 10,000 pounds for a company to re-patch two cabinets, color coded...etc Due to the contingency we as a company cannot afford it! Can anyone request.

Information we don't have includes; where all the voice and network ports located around the building are located on the patch panel. Our database is out of date and therefore we need to start from scratch.

    1. What is the best way to find out which port number relates to which patch in the cabinet. Is there a cheap product or device on the market that allows us to do this. We have the basic Cat 5 cables and no fibre optic.

    2. Do you know of any good Network Diagram software that allows us to create a visual database of where are ports are located on the patch panel eventually when we find out.

Basically anything that can help us define our network diagram over a large network as original documentation was lost in translation. Cheers

  • What is a great gaming laptop?

Now listen to me people, I know my fair share about my laptops and I don't want any stupid answers. I want proper, fully detailed answers into why you think you found me the perfect laptop and what not? I will reward the Best Answer!

I am quite satisfied with the specs on this laptop http://www.vaio.sony.co.uk/view/ShowProduct.action...

This is what I need - If you check out the specs of the laptop above, that pretty much says it all except one things. I need to find a laptop with a 512mb graphics card. For some stupid reason I cant find one with a screen size equal to the above of 16.4 or a minimum of 15.4 inches. This is very important. Also I require a laptop that is either from Sony, MSI, Asus, Fujitsu Siemens, HP, Samsung, LG. (Will not accept Toshiba, Acer, Emachines ) Thank you

I need your feedback and what you suggest is a great gaming laptop. Cheers
