Tenant wants to install curtain. Please advise?
I'm a new landlord of a condo in Manhattan, NYC. The windows in the bedroom already have vertical blinds, but light penetrates through the gap between the left-side and right-side blinds. My tenant just moved in two weeks ago, and she is requesting to install curtains and will hire a professional for the job if I'm okay. I haven't given them the permission yet. How do you usually deal with this kind of situation? I won't let my tenant to remove the existing vertical blinds.
If I allow them to install curtains, then the installer will need to drill holes on my wall. I'm not going to pay for the installation cost. Under the lease agreement, I have a provision that says the tenant will bear the cost of any modification, subject to the landlord's approval. I also have a provision that says if she moves out, the apt will need to be under the same condition when she first moved in. If she moves out in a year or two and removes the curtains at that time, I can take money away from her security deposit if she doesn't patch the holes and paint the wall, right?

6 AnswersParis5 years agoHow do you plan for wedding photoshoot in Paris?
I'm getting married later this year, and my fiancee and I (both live in New York City) would like to get our wedding photoshoot done in Paris. I'm not sure how to do this. Should I hire my own photographer in NYC and have him/her to travel with us to Paris (of course, paying his/her travel expenses)? I'm not sure if hiring a photographer from Paris in advance over the phone would be an option since I don't know who I'm dealing with. How do people do this kind of out-of-country photoshoot? Please share with me your experience.
2 AnswersPhotography5 years agoDid you (any men) ever leave your job for another one so that you can spend more time with your family?
Did you (men) ever leave your job for another less-exciting job so that you can spend more time with your wife and kids? I work long hours in my current job and it drives me crazy often. I'm getting married this year, and I have been thinking to find another job with more predictable work hours though it may be less exciting than my current one and have limited growth opportunity so that I can spend more time with my wife and future kids.
Please share your experience if you have any. Thanks

2 AnswersBelgium6 years agoAfternoon tea in London without reservation? Is it possible?
In London, is it possible to have afternoon tea at a hotel without any reservation by just walking in? I'm from the US and I will go to London in a few weeks. I had already tried to make an afternoon tea reservation on the hotel's website, but it asked for credit card. It seems like other hotels also require credit card for reservation. I'm not so comfortable entering my credit card information. As a tourist, plans may change from time to time on a given day. What do you think? Thanks

9 AnswersLondon6 years agoHeathrow to Euston Station (Bloomsbury)??
Hi there,
My wife and I will visit London in a few weeks, and our flight will land on a Sunday evening at around 8:00 PM London time. Our hotel is located 5 minutes away from Euston station in Bloomsbury. At the airport, we plan to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington station. Afterward, do you recommend taking the tube or grab a taxi to Euston station? We will have only two pieces of luggage, one mid-size and one small.
Also, is it very expensive to take a taxi from Heathrow to Bloomsbury?

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could provide me some suggestions. I'm planning to go to London for a week in September. I did some research on the web already, and I have narrowed down two areas to stay: S. Kensington or Bloomsbury. I prefer staying in an area with access to the tube, transportation to the airport as well as restaurants. Also, I may either arrive at Heathrow or London City Airport. Can someone advise??? Thank you all
