Purchased a house in may of 2008. claimed the $7500 on our taxes. home is being foreclosed on this year, 2011. I am moving out of state for work. Do I have to repay the credit since the house is no longer my primary residence or am I safe as long as the foreclosure goes through in 2011? The house has been my primary residence for the majority of days in 2011. Are the exact dates of move out vs foreclosure sale relevant or just events within a given tax year relevant? Any suggestions about what I can do to avoid having to repay? Might it work to have my wife and child stay in the house here and me to rent a room out of state until the sale goes through? Tax Lady, we can move out when the foreclosure process begins or when the house is sold at auction by the bank? According to Chase Bank, the foreclosure is in process and it's been assigned to their atty but there is no auction date set as of yet.

We bought a new house three years ago. AC worked just fine. Day before yesterday the air coming out of the ducts was not as cold and it was running all day and night but would not bring the temp down to the level we had it set at. Today we had the a/c tech come out and he opened the blower in the attic and the lower half of both evap coils were frozen solid. He advised us to turn the system off and run the fan to defrost it, which idid. He thought the reason it was frozen was that we had it at too low a temp for too long. Its been in the 90's here for a few weeks and we had it set at 73. Is this a possibility or is the ice a symptom of a bigger problem? Its a split system with the other hald on the side of the house. He checked the outside coils for leaks and found none. After defrosting we are now running the system and it still does notseem as cold. Any suggestions or advice?

Will this allow me to watch TV shows at my home computer? Can I watch a different channel than what they're watching or do I have to watch the same thing?

I understand that CA is a non-deficiency judgement state but are there other means a lendor can use to recoup the deficency from the borrower if there is a short sale? I am asking about CA specific!!!!

have a FHA loan through Chase and we're considering a short sale. Does the HAFA assistance program apply to FHA loans or only Freddie and Fannie loans?

We have an FHA loan serviced by Chase home mortgage, financed by Ginnie Mae and we owe about $100K more than other houses in the neighborhood are going for. We would like to move out of the area at some point and we are considering not making any more payments to the lender. We are not interested in refinancing. We have considered short sale but the process is so long and dragged out and potentially useless in selling the house.

What happens if we do this? What direct costs are associated with going through the foreclosure process?

What effect would it have on my credit vs a short sale?

How long would I be able to stay in the house before they kick me out?

I am setting up a network in my home. I have female ethernet plugs in all the walls and the cat 5 cables coming from the walls into a box in my laundry room where the coax from the cable comes in. Can I hook up the cable modem there and plug that directly into my 5-port or do I have to run it through a modem first? My plan is to plug the cable modem into the 5-port and hook all cat5 coming from the rooms into that. Then in one of the rooms I will plug my wireless router into the female cat5 plug in the wall and broadcast my wireless signal. would this work? the only reason I ask is that the box for the 5-port suggests you're supposed to have the router between the modem and the 5-port

right now if you buy the samsung fascinate you get any other phone of your choice for free. I was going to get the fascinate and my wife was going to get the droid 2 because she likes the slide out keyboard. If I play around with the samsung phone and decide I dont like it within 30 days, can I go in and exchange it for a droid x and still get to keep the droid 2 for free? I know they charge a $35 re-stocking fee. What do they do there since they already gave me the droid 2 for free? I know they charge you like $100 for the 2nd phone and then give you a $100 rebate. do they make you pay more for the "free" phone if you return the one that was on buy one, get one free special?

I am looking into dropping satellite/cable and I wanted to find out if there is a way to stream hulu content onto the TV. I have a wii and will probably get a blu ray dvd player as well. what are the options to stream hulu content onto the tv?

we're going to do netflix but netflix does not have current tv shows as far as i know. They wouldnt have, say, last nights episode of "top chef"

I understand I can use a HDMI cable to connect my computer to the tv and stream shows that way as well. i was just wondering if there is an "app" or something for the wii or blu ray dvd that lets you do it easier or a piece of hardware I can buy to wirelessly connect a computer to the TV so I can watch streaming video from a computer in a different room.

PS, i know there are websites where you can get coupon codes but that is not what i am looking for. I am trying to find the physical coupons that I can take into the store and buy something with.

Every time i open a folder it automatically set to view the details of the contents of the folder. how do i get the default to be 'list' or 'small icon' and also apply that to all sub folders. i know you use to be able to do it w/XP but i cant find where it is on windows 7.
