My dad broke up my boyfriend and I because I was 16 and he was 20 with a child. When I turn 17 if we wanted to get back together could anything legally stop us? The age of legal consent in New York is 17, but could my Dad pull any strings to stop us from getting back together legally?

Long story short I met this guy (Lets call him Phil) at my local park for a rock concert my friend, Sarah was sponsoring. Phil and I instantly hit it off started talking etc. Before I left we hugged, and exchanged numbers. We have been talking from around the time of hurricane sandy (November) till around The end of march. He recently got in trouble with the law so he hasnt been around much. Despite all of this, he is probably one of the best guys that I have ever met. I have never felt this strongly about someone before. Like this guy has really impacted my life! So we're getting together for lunch next Friday and i'm kind of nervous. I think I love him because I get the butterflies and the feeling of overwhelming joy but I don't think I completely love him because when he had a gf I wasn't jealous or anything. I was happy for him. Like I feel as if I'm friendZoning myself -_-

So I met this guy at a concert.. Blah blah blah. Long story short he's 20 I'm almost 15. He took a liking to me from when we first started talking that day at the concert. We text all the time and I really like him. I just wish he was younger >:(

He also demonstrates good self control because he hasn't said anything too sexual over text or when we hung out. He does flirt, but doesn't go overboard. I really like the fact that he's older and isn't as hormonal as the boys in my grade. The minute you reply to their messages [boys in my grade] they ask for pictures/ or want to talk dirty. But this guy is different. And I think I may have fallen in LUST with him. I liked this guy for a very Long time. Long story short we met, talked for a while lost touch and just reconnected. Every bf I've had in between I would compare to him because I liked him soo much. Okay this is going to be long...

I started talking to this guy 2 years ago in June. We became friends thru mutual friends etc. I really grew to like him but he lived an hour away and were both in high school so it would be hard for us to see each other. But the way be texted me made it seem like he liked me too. The hearts, he said maybr we can date when he can drive ;)

Then in May of this year, I found out he had a new gf. I was absolutely devestated.
