  • Dry Dog Food for Sensitive Stomach?

Here are the details. Diesel is my 2 year old Rottweiler. He was given to me at 20 months, so I do not know all his history. He was already neutered, always a great plus. He started vomiting clear acid like liquid. He was taken to the vet, clear physical. Put on Famotidine 2 10mg pills 30 minutes before each meal. At this time he was on Canidae. Things seemed to clear for about 2 weeks. Again this clear liquid started, he was upped to 2 20mg pills AM and 1 20mg pill PM, and was switched to Taste of the Wild. Things were good until 12/30/08. He vomited some brown mushy stuff(very gross)(looked like poop) Gross I know, Sorry! He was taken to the vet again. Clear physical, blood drawn, de wormed, on Metronidazole, and prescription diet purrina E/N. Blood work came back good. Vet suggested all I could do was try different foods for sensitive stomachs, or use the E/N diet(costly). Are there any foods that you could recommend?

  • This one is for the Doberman lovers and...?

War Dog lovers, or just dog lovers in general. I wast sent an email which had a picture of a soldier and his Malinios in front of a memorial. To which I looked up and came across the "Always Faithful" memorial and this video. How touching is this? Although my dogs are in no way soldiers, it just makes me respect them and brings me much closer to them.

What are your thoughts on this piece?

  • PAL/ILP dog owners can you...?

I have a couple of dogs that I would like to have registered names on, such as my neutered Rottweiler Diesel and my spayed Australian Shepherd Sugar Kisses. Sugar already has her PAL/ILP #. I am in the precess of getting Diesel's PAL/ILP #. These pets will show in obedience, agility, and herding. First of all can a pet with a PAL/ILP # have a registered name? If so, how do I go about doing this?

  • Changing their diet...?

I feed Canidae ALS, thinking about changing to either Canidae Grain Free ALS, Nature's Variety Instinct(GF), or Taste of the Wild(GF). I buy the large bag of Canidae(35lbs), b/c I have 5 to feed. The others do not have larger than 30lbs bag. I already buy 2 bags a month for an average of $84.00 a month. My retailer does a frequent buyers only on the Instinct, but only carriers chicken formula. Would this end up being the better bargain? My other questions are:

What's your experience with any of these brands?

What's your opinion of these brands?

How do they compare in price? and size?

Do you recommend any other brand/s that are grain free and comparable to these?

  • Without a tail to tale?

You know a dog wags its tail to show us its joy/happiness etc... Well what about us that have docked/bobbed tails? How much does your dogs nub wiggle? What makes them wiggle the most? Is it just their nub or does the whole body get to wiggling?

My Aussie's nub is so short that all you see is a bunch of hair moving around. She wiggles the most when she sees her daddy or my monther. My Rottie gets to going so fast his entire body wiggles around, even his ears. All you have to do is talk to him to get him moving lol.

  • Destructive behavior...?

I have been fostering a petite male Aussie for about a week now. He has began to learn Sit, Down, and Off. He is crated at night and does fine. Over the weekend he had supervised house privileges with my other 2 dogs, my hubby, and myself. This morning I thought I would try unsupervised w/ the two other dogs. Only for about twenty minutes. I was right he's not ready for that. So I said Aghh!! made him sit, cleaned up, and then crated him. Do you feel this was the correct correction or should I have done it differerently?? Being that I did not caught him in the act... What are your thoughts??

  • Blonde Teamwork?

Two blonde girls were working for a city public works department. One would dig a hole and the other would follow behind her and fill the hole in. They worked up one side of the street, then down the other, then moved on to the next street, working furiously all day without rest, one girl digging a hole, the other girl filling it in again.

An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't understand what they were doing. So he asked the hole digger, "I'm impressed by the effort you two are putting into your work, but I don't get it -- why do you dig a hole, only to have your partner follow behind and fill it up again?"

The hole digger wiped her brow and sighed, "Well, I suppose it probably looks odd because we're normally a three-person team. But today the girl who plants the trees called in sick."

  • How to Annoy Drive-Thru Clerks?

    - When they hand you your food, hand them a bag with all the trash from your car in it. (You know you've done it!)

    - Order a cup of water and 2 napkins. That's it.

    - Ask the cashier how she fits in that little box, and mention that you are an entertainment agent looking for mimes with experience.

    - When asked if they can take your order, tell them you are just window shopping and drive on.

    - Demand a Sausage McGriddle and 2 hash browns at 11 pm. If they say they are not selling breakfast, insist that they expedite it immediately.

    - Ask the price of almost everything on the menu and then order something that you didn't ask the price for.

  • A joke.... Dogs vs. Cats?

A dog thinks: Hey, these people I live with feed me, love me, provide me with a nice warm, dry house, pet me, and take good care of me... They must be Gods!

A cat thinks: Hey, these people I live with feed me, love me, provide me with a nice warm, dry house, pet me, and take good care of me... I must be a God!
