  • Are we so naive?

    The FDA and sunscreen

    So how many of you poured sun screen all over your children this summer to protect them from the sun’s harmful cancer causing rays? I know and hope many of you tried to protect your children. Well, how would you like to know a bit more about that sunscreen? How many of you know that about two months ago the FDA admitted to not being able to adequately monitor our products and can only test about 1% on the shelves? That’s right...1%!!!! To those of you who don’t understand what that means, when you are walking down the isle at the grocery store, 1 out of every 100 products on the shelves have been tested to see if there might be something wrong with it...AND by the way...the FDA also said that to adequately test it, they need 10 years per chemical. So take a look on the back of your sunscreen and think of those ingredients that were poured into it this summer and then think of your children as the guinea pigs for 10 years now.

  • Good budget program?

    I orderd Quicken recently and it really isn't what I was looking for to start a budget for myself. I wanted something easier to use and now feel foolish for ordering something that expensive when trying to budget! Eventually I want my own business so it might work out to keep it. In the meantime, any advice about Quicken or is there a better program that could make my budgeting easier? I need something because we took a pay cut and I cannot seem to get a grip on things! Help!!

    I want to start an Events Planning business on the Central Coast area of California. I don't see anything of the sorts around here. I know that it will take a lot of work to get started but I am more worried that because things are so expensive here people will not want to use my services...any advice or contacts in the area to get me started?
