  • What Are The Living Conditions In Toronto Group Homes For Youth?

One of my friends is going to live in a group home after CAS rescued her from her abusive father. So I was just wondering if she's going to be safe there? I've heard many rumours about the counselors being abusive there and the kids being violent too. So, if anyone has any information on it please feel free to share :)

  • CSIS:Should I go for a career as an intelligence officer? Think they'd would hire me?

So, I'm really thinking about joining CSIS(Canadian Security Intelligence Services) after I get a bachelor's degree. They look for travel and language skills.I have a clean record. I'm Asian, I grew up in 3 different countries, I can sing 4 national anthems and I know the basics of five languages. Problem is I'm bipolar, but I emailed them asking if that would be a problem, and what they basically said was that they try to provide equal opportunities for people ith disabilities, and they would look at my skills compared would other applicants on a case to case basis, etc. I'm a high school student now So should I aim for a CSIS career and start extra taking language courses or am I bound to be rejected for my disability? I just don't want to hope for something I dont have a chance at. All opinions are welcome and thanks :))

  • Should I start taking medicine for my Bipolar?

I have kind of accepted my illness and I'm coping much better with it with the support of my close friends and family. But still the instances of paranoia and of people sometimes commenting on how weird I am hurts me.

But I've tried medicine before from one doctor and it made me gain wait and become a lifeless Zombie.

Another doctor tried to set me up on Lithium which is a really powerfull drug, so I refused and somehow stopped going to my psychiatrist

I'm doing pretty okay, no self harm, suicidal thoughts or anything. I'm just mostly hyper and say random things which attracts people's attention to me but my friends think its funny though. And I kind o take pride in being weird and being unique.

I have many people who know about my condition and support me, and I have my own coping strategies too.

Its just sometimes I feel bad about what strangers say about me and relive bad stuff that happened in the past. But otherwise I'm pretty content.

So should I take the medicine to lead a perfect but robotic life or continue to be happy with my imperfect self?

  • I'm looking for books like the Madison Avery series by Kim Harrison, help?

I started reading Once dead twice shy after I read the prequel in Prom Nights From Hell(awesome book, btw) and I ended up reading all three books in the series. Although they aren't one of the best books in the genre and may seem a bit off at times, there's something about them that just has me hooked. And now I'm aching for more! So someone please suggest something simmilar?

  • How to deal with your best friend's super annoying boyfriend?

He's a really annoying guy who doesn't get along with anyone. He always makes rude and offensive comments whenever I say something. And whenever my she points it out he starts fighting with her, saying that she's favoring me over him. He follows her everywhere , so I have to endure his derisive behavior because I don't want to see her more torn than she is, she's already lost most of her friends because of him. But he's really nice to her and they both do really well in school together. Help me please, any advice anyone?
