  • Can you replace a 15ohm resistor with a 10ohm?

I'm trying to repair the TCU in my car and I need a 15ohm resistor, but don't have one handy? Can you switch out resistors for a slightly different value without effecting the whole circuit? I found a 10 and a 22ohm resistor in an old amplifier.

I know resistors are cheap, so if it might mess things up I can always wait and buy a 15ohm tomorrow, but I was just hoping to get this thing fixed tonight so I don't have to bum a ride to work tomorrow. Thanks in advance.

  • How to "fix" Pepto-pink walls?

We're moving into a house with 2 rooms painted Pepto pink. It's terrible. I love the house, just can't stand the color! Naturally, the two rooms are for my two little boys. :) My problem is, after paying the deposit and first months rent, I'm not going to have much money at all for painting supplies and it will be awhile before I get financially caught back up. I figure I may be able to spend about $40-$50 right now.

So, does anyone have any ideas/suggestions for me? The rooms are pretty large and I figure I'd need primer and two coats of paint. Can you paint a color over the pink to turn it another color, I wonder? It's a matte finish. I guess I could just make the boys deal with it for now, but my oldest son isn't too happy about his pink room and my room was Forrest Service Green growing up (my mom got free paint), so I know how it is. :) Anyway, if anyone knows how to make Pepto pink work for a boys room please let me know. I've been scouring the net with no luck. Thanks. :)

  • In-law problems. What would you do?

My husband and I have been married four years. We have a three year old and another child on the way. Our problem is that his father and brother have moved in with us and they're both driving us crazy!

His father lost his job 3 years ago. He's lived with us for 2 now. He was drawing unemployment, but hasn't drawn crap in nearly a year. My husband pays for his gas, meds, food, ect. His brother's gf kicked him out a year ago and he moved in with us b/c he had no place to go. He does help a little with bills, but not much. We live in a two bedroom house; which would be perfect if it were only my hubby, our son, and myself.

I'm frustrated b/c his dad has taken over our living room and acts like he is "the boss" of our house. I cook dinner for all of us everyday and both of them eat like it's their last meal on Earth. We can't afford to keep them up anymore, but my husband won't say anything to either of them. His dad has helped us financially, in the past, so at first we felt obligated to help him. Now it's causing problems for us.

Neither of us want to be mean to them. We've hinted around about finding a job, but his dad doesn't say anything. My husbands aunt told us that his dad told her it was time for his sons to take care of him now. He's 59 and can't "retire" for 3 more years.

How would you handle this situation? I really don't want to kick either of them out on the street, but we're having another child soon, there's not enough room here, and I'm tired of not feeling like this is my home. We've contemplated finding another place and leaving them behind, but why should we have to leave our house b/c of them? My husband is tired of his dad telling us both what we should do. We're both in our early 30's, but feel like we're freakin' 15! Advice please! Thank you and sorry this is a long question.

  • Question about Twilight Saga: Dumb Question, but I'm curious?

OK, so I finally broke down and started reading the Twilight Saga. I'm really enjoying them and think they're actually very good. I've made it to Eclipse. My question is....brace yourself...I wonder what Edward did when Bella had her period? I know, wtf. But, has anyone else thought about that? If they couldn't be away from each other, then what's up with that? I guess that wouldn't be appropriate content for the books, but it's just a late night thought. :)

  • Does your mood change with the changing of the seasons?

My mood changes with the changing of the seasons. In summer I seem to feel vibrant and alert. In autumn I feel like I'm walking around in a fog, until winter sets in. Spring makes me feel renewed and I have a greater sense of clarity. It's still summer where I live, but I am getting these "fall" feelings right now. I find this to be quite odd. Does anyone else feel like a completely different person when the seasons change?

  • Does anyone else keep seeing the same time on digital clocks?

I noticed a few people have asked if anyone keeps seeing the same number over and over, but with me I keep seeing 2:22, 3:33 and 11:11 almost every time I look at a digital clock. I'm sure it doesn't mean much, but I just wonder how many other people this happens to. I didn't think much of it at first, but I keep seeing these same times almost every day for the past 6, or 7 months now. Maybe it's a same time phenomenon :-)
