  • How do I remove windshield wiper streaks/glare?

Just got a used 2012 Nissan Versa from a dealer. There is really bad glare on the windshield. Looking closely, it's like there are streaks where the wipers run across the window. The wipers are in good condition, can't see any way they might be scratching the glass. I've cleaned with windex and armourall glass cleaner both inside and outside and still can't clear it up.

  • Denied job at Disneyland?

Had an interview today for attractions, told I would not proceed in the hiring process. Told me on the spot I wasn't energetic enough and didn't smile enough, despite recent great experience in school photography which requires much of the same attitude. Problem is, one on one interview with the standard questions about experience you get anywhere else... how can you be energetic, enthusiastic and smile? Seems so unnatural to me. I'm very professional one-on-one, but very open and out going in groups.

So what can I do differently next time... aside from obviously smile more? And how long before I can reapply?

I really wish they would have given me a second chance to show that I can be what they want, or present some sort of scenario.

  • Monroe Monro-Matic or Sensa-Trac struts?

1998 mustang, about to replace struts. Wondering which of these is better, realistically. The Monro-Matics are $150 for all 4 corners, Sensa-Tracs are $220. $70 difference. It can be assumed the more expensive struts are better, but are they really? anyone with experience?

And yes I know, there are much better options out there, like KYB, but I can't afford. Plus this is kind of time sensitive, gotta get them replaced this week and Monroes are the only ones available locally.

  • W4 witholding... 1 or 2?

Filling out W4 for new job, Following the directions I came out to a 2 for line 5. Curious what that will do, I know the higher number takes less taxes. I'm wondering what the difference is between 1 and 2. I don't want to put 0, because I need more of the money sooner. But I don't want to be left with a huge surprise to pay. I'm pretty good at saving though. Thoughts?

  • Air conditioner pull-out disconnect handle?

Moved into a house, and the a/c will not run. Looks like the previous owners took out the pull-out handle from inside the box attached to the a/c unit. Where can I get a new handle? Or do I have to buy and install a new box?

  • Who's responsible for rental car insurance after an accident?

Last month my car was run into in a parking lot while I was shopping. No question who was at fault. We exchanged information and I contacted their insurance company. Their insurance agreed to pay for all repairs and the rental. However, they did wouldn't pay for the insurance on the rental, claiming it is my responsibility. I only have liability, so the additional insurance cost $8.99 per day, in the end I had to pay $360.

I'm wondering if now I can take this to the people who hit me, since if they had not hit me, I wouldn't be out $360. Could I demand them to pay it, maybe even take it to small claims?

  • Where does the negative battery cable end on 98 mustang?

Negative battery cable is corroded and i'm trying to replace it. following the cable leads into more insulation up by the engine block and I loose track from there. At the same time a new cable is only 2 feet long (the old one appears to be 4 feet or more). Can I terminate the new cable anywhere on the body/chassis? Where does the original go?

  • Find a wire short in car?

Been working around my instrument cluster on my 1998 mustang. Got a smog test and failed cause my VSS and check engine light malfunction. I was checking the voltage and resistance of the related connections to the back of my cluster. One wasn't showing up, I fear there is a short somewhere, but don't know how to find it. All fuses are good.

  • Why won't check engine light come on?

1998 Mustang. Has my car smogged today, failed for two reasons, no check engine light and no speed sensor. The speed sensor I knew already, the speedometer has been dead, but never found out why. The check engine light not coming on was a surprise. Related?

I took out my dash and checked the bulbs, I actually switched the chck engine bulb with the seatbelt bulb, one I knew was good. Still didn't come one, so not a bulb issue. Oddly when I had everything hooked back up and started my car, my theft light kept flashing. I accidentally stumbled upon a backlight for my instrument panel, which was pretty cool to see, not sure how I got it to turn on but it will defiantly make night driving easier.

So, what causes the check engine light not to come on? And is it related to the dead speed sensor? Is there maybe some electrical issue in the instrument panel causing these quirky problems?

Please be detailed, I'd like to check these things out myself if possible.

  • Is speedometer & odometer required for smog test?

1998 mustang. My speedometer has been dead and because of that my odometer hasn't been turning. I need to know if this is an issue before getting a smog test.

I've had the car in for speedometer repair 3 times, each time it dies again shortly after, so it doesn't look like i can have it repaired.

  • Speedometer died after transmission work?

    98 mustang, v6, manual.

Earlier this week I got my car back after having the transmission rebuilt and clutch replaced. Driving home that evening My speedometer died, needle dropped to the peg. Next morning I checked the fuses and inspected what cables I could. Everything looked good. All other gauges are fine, the odometer and trip counter went out too.

I called the shop that did the work, no one there knew anything and said the guy that did the work, the guy who would know, is out and will be out till next week. Just my luck.

So, Is there anything I can check now? Any hidden cable or something that might have come loose?

  • Car has no power to start?

Got to work fine, 15 minutes later went to move my car and I get nothing. I turn the key and nothing happens, no click, no lights, can't turn anything on. I didn't leave anything on, and it was running fine before. Battery connections are good and fuses appear to be good.

  • car starts then stops?

I've been trying to get my 98 mustang to start up. I dont know what i did up it started, drove around for a few minutes then i parked. When i went back to start it again after ten minutes it wont go. This time it nearly starts, but then shakes dead with a nasty screeching sound.

    any ideas?

this may not be related, but I've had issues with the power locks not working, sometimes they work, sometimes they dont. I did notice when i last started my car they engaged when i turned the key, but now they won't engage and the car won't start. fusses and relays are good.

  • Where is the starter on a 98 mustang?

I need to check the connections, but can't find the starter. A detailed explanation or pic would help. Following the cables off the battery led no where.

  • 98 Mustang Starting issues, basic maintenance fix?

I have been having issues starting my 98 mustang the last few weeks. Weather has been a bit cold and wet at time (southern california). This occurs when the car has been sitting a while, like over night, and sometimes just after a few hours.

It's been about 9 months or so since and lube/oil change was done, could this be the issue?

The engine cranks, but doesn't turn over. Battery is good as the headlights are bright, starter seems ok. Maybe a fuel issue?

please provide useful and helpful answers.

  • One dim headlight? bad wiring? bad relay?

98 Mustang. New projector headlights with new bulbs. One side works fine for driving/high beams. Other side is very dim with driving lights, and doesn't switch to high beams. Connections and wiring looks good, fuses are good. Maybe bad relay? if so how would I fix that?

Please post a solution with the possible problem. I'd like to fix this today.
