After trying to resolve issues where my boss feels I am "stepping on his toes", I have gotten nowhere. A new position opened up and I am considering applying for it. I just heard through the grapevine that my boss is applying for the same job. It seems this could be a win-win, since if either he or I gets the position we would no longer work closely together. However, if neither of us gets it, I am concerned about my work quality of life getting even worse than it is now.

Any advice?

There was a beauty pageant at my job over the weekend and they used my office. Apparently someone's gown was covered in glitter and they sat in my chair. I've vacuumed and used duct tape to try to get the glitter off my chair. There's still tons of it.

Any advice?
