Can I catch TPD (Tea Party Disease) from a toilet seat?

12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHas Christianity become Pontius Pilate rather than Jesus?
Jesus--vehicle of change, teacher of love, tolerance, gentileness, charity, compassion
Pilate -- enforcer of rules, defender of the state religion, obsctacle to change, judge of all men, servant of political power.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould you please review my proof of God's non-existence?
I know there are a few holes, but please comment on the general approach
1. Most children at age 5 believe in both Santa Claus and the Garbage Man
2. By age 10 most children do not believe in Santa but do still believe in the Garbage Man
Analysis of this observable fact:
Santa no longer exists for the 10 year old because:
1. The evidence was found to be suspicious (i.e., he caught his parents)
2. The belief in Santa required untenable suspension of common sense (i.e., how could one sleigh go to all those houses and b) what about when there is no snow and c) what about houses without chimneys and d) who are all these other Santas I see?
The Garbage Man does exist for 10 years olds because:
1. The evidence is tangible and withstands careful scrutiny -- a) he hears the garbage truck go by b) he sees the cans full one night, and empty the next morning.
2. This evidence persists even though the 10 year old wouldn't recognize the Garbage Man if he met him on the street--the evidence is so good that not even direct confrontation is necesssary.
OVERALL CONCLUSION:
The evidence for God is no better than the evidence for Santa Claus--either it is planted by one's "parents" (church officials) or is better explained by other phenomenon (mom bought it at Kohl's and put it there).
Comments please?
29 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoA recent survey shows that 3% of American women attending church are sexually propositioned?
Where is the outrage? Can you imagine if it were 3% of school children?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI would like to destroy all of humanity. Any ideas?
How might this be possible? One idea I had was to damn all the world's major rivers and thus slow down the speed of the earth's orbit or rotation. What do you think? Any other suggestions?

10 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow can the Bible condemn homosexuality but condone incest?
Adam and Eve could have become grandparents through one method only. Why aren't Christians as enthusiastic in the advocacy of incest as they are in the persecution of homosexuality? It makes no sense to be so conflicted and contradictory about deviant sexuality.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould some religious sects be prosecuted for treason?
If a religious sect insists that God's law supercedes the sovereignty of the state, isn't that in effect advocating the overthrow of legitimately elected government?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWas Gibbon correct in attributing the fall of the western Roman empire to Christianity?
If YES, could you say more about the possible adverse effect of Chrisitianity on the American Empire?
If NO, how would you explain the ongoing prosperity of "pagan" Byzantium long long after western Rome fell into ruins?
