Maronite view on Assyrians?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdvL6Znm1kY
In this video, Baba Shenouda says that the Coptic Orthodox Church does not accept Assyrians as Christians. Any Christian can imagine how insulting it would be, specifically Middle Eastern Christians, if another Middle Eastern Christian religious leader, such as His Holiness, would call you non-Christian.
After all, we are in the fight for our survival together.
The Assyrian Church of the East, including the Chaldean Catholic Church and the Syriac Orthodox Church, do without a doubt recognize the Copts and Maronites as Christians, no matter the denomination.
So I ask any Maronites in this section, how do you feel about Assyrians and what is your view on us?

4 AnswersKwanzaa1 decade agoWhich language class should I take?
I am in high school and I am taking my second year of Spanish. There is a Chinese teacher at my school who is next year opening a Mandarin class. She personally told me that she would like me to take that class.
Should I continue taking Spanish (four years) or take Mandarin (two years Spanish, two years Mandarin)?

4 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoWhat does Islam say about the Battle of Armageddon?
You might have heard this question before, but I just spoke to a former Mullah from Ramallah, West Bank. His mosque and my church have close relations, neverminding that they are Muslim and we are Christian.
I asked him about what Islam says about the Final Battle. I asked him if Muslims believe as Christians and Jews believe, that God himself will come and battle Evil in the Valley of Armageddon (Tel Megiddo, Israel).
He responded saying:
"No. Not God. God will send someone to fight the Evil. Someone like... Jesus, to come and restore religion back to the right path as God wanted. Then everybody dies and God ressurects them. Every good person will go to Paradise and every bad person will burn in fire."
He even mentioned the word "Christ" when speaking of the someone.
I have trouble understand the Mullah. I know the Muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet, but I ask myself, why would he say that the Islamic faith will be dependent on Christ when they follow Muhammad.
I think he told me in a way that I as a Christian would appreciate it, but I don't know. I wanted the true Islamic belief/opinion, that is why I asked a Mullah.
This is not a question meant to insult Muslims nor trash Islam. I ask only one honest question and I ask for honest answers.

My family and I are going to Lebanon soon and we also decided that while we were in the Middle East, we wanted to do the Holy Land Cruise. We have time to spend, I just need to know how it is and if it is worth it?
2 AnswersCruise Travel1 decade agoCatholic and Orthodox Christians?
I am Assyrian Nestorian-Orthodox and a member of the Assyrian Church of the East. Because of our Nestorianism, our denomination is our own. At the end, we all call ourselves Christians.
I've been hearing people saying that they are not Christian, they are Catholic, and vice versa. It is a fact that these are the churches of Christianity:
1) Catholicism
2) Eastern Orthodox
3) Oriental Orthodox
4) Anglican
5) Protestant
6) Assyrian/Ancient Church of the East
These listed here, are not religions, they are the denominations of our religion, Christianity. Again, why do most Christians say, for example, "I am not Christian, I am Catholic"?
There might be a reason, but I don't know. If anyone knows, please tell me.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIsraeli opinions, what do you really wish to do to Lebanon? Who would fight inside, and who would you not?
Not a racial question against Israel. I just hate Hezbollah and most Shiites, but I don't hate Sunni, Druze, or Christian (I am a Assyrian-Lebanese Christian myself).
