  • Can't you be a "Real Man" and be Gay?

Conversing at Christmas party and a conversation about gays and "real men" came up. I apparently started WWIII by stating that a real man could also be a gay man. I am guessing that men don't stop being men simply because their sexuality geared toward the same sex. There were some extremely educated people there with some very closed points of view. My thoughts went to my friend who is an activist for educating young gay teens the prevention of HIV, he has a Masters in Psychology and he is also one of the most loving people I know. Isn't that a Real Man? One with a responsibilty to not just himself but to the world at large and does his tiny part? What do you think?

  • I wanted to House Swap?

I was wondering if there is a trusted website or evenif there is a person here wanting to come to the Midwest United States by doing a house swap. I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with it as well- good or bad and would have some advice on where to advertise, and what rules apply. Oh, almost forgot...me and my fiancee would prefer these choices in this order, just in case it matters- county Waterford, Kilkenny, Galway. Thanks so much for whatever info you can give. Blessings!

  • What is My Sister Thinking?

My sister is dating this guy that has said to her on several occasions that he isnot interested in dating because he isn't where he wants to be in life, financially speaking. In the meantime, he is reaping the rewards of my sisters affection as she will assist him with most anything he needs. Now I asked her if she was falling for this guy when he clearly doesn't fit her desires in a mate but she says no. What's strange about that. Though, is that she says that while she's not in love with him, she is having unprotected sex with him and will have his baby. She's over 35, so this isn't a wayward teenager we are talking about here! My question is, is she lying to herself or do you think she's lying to me?

  • Have a Question about an Irish Faerie Prince?

I reead a trilogy by Nora Roberts and it was a story about three siblings by the name of Gallager residing in Ardmore, and one of the repeating characters was Carrick, prince of faeries. Is Carrick truly a character of Irish history, or was he a made up character by the author? His story of him and his love Gwen is quite beautiful, so I thought I might like to know if it was real or not. Thanks so much in advance!

  • How do you Clean a Chevey Cavalier Transmission....?

I want to tell my mate to "suck it" by showing him that I can clean my transmission and replace it with new fluids....but I do not kjnow how. I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier that would die when coming to a stop. It almost felt like when you are driving a manual and you come to a stop while its in 3rd or 4th gear and you don't engage the clutch? Yeah, that jerky kind of feeling. Well anyway, if I would start it right back up and put it in drive, (did I mention my car is an automatic?) then it would die again. So anyway, after some research, I think I need to do one of two things; FIRST clean my transmission and run new fluids, but I need help. Can anyone tell me how to do that? How do you drain the transmission and how many quarts do I need to refill it? Is there anything I shoould run through there? Am I in over my head or can

I do this myself? Any answers would be helpful.

  • Can You Sue the Family Courts?

My best friend is wondering if she can sue the family courts system. Several months ago her volatile relationship with her sister blew up and her sister falsely accused her mate of touching her child. She did this through a hotline call and given the nature of the complaint, her children were taken from her and given all the rights that are listed on the Division of Family Courts pamphlets, all efforts are to be made to keep the children i the home if the "said perpetrator" does not reside there. Her mate and her have never shared a home at any time and although the case against him went no where (the child of course could not understand what they were asking, and they caused the child alot of distress and now she has been away from her parents for almost four months). The sister wrote a letter retracting the statements and they would not allow it in court. Now the mother, who has not been charged with anything at all is still without her children, had to be subject to court ordered parenting classes, psuchological examinations, all of which she has passed as she is a loving mother with no history of child abuse, neglect, nothing- and they are making her still go through this in the absence of no charges at all. When you look at the court order they got from a judge to get the childre out of the home, it also states that her mate lived there, which, not to tell all of her information, she lives in a not so great part of town and he makes six figures and lives in the cushy suburbs and has lived there for ten plus years! Is this all legal? Can she sue them, and if so, what kind of lawyer would she need? All answers are welcome.

  • Would it be wrong to do this to a friend?

Hello, all. I am in a bind and want to do the right thing. A few months ago, a girl who used to date my now deceased best friend was about to be kicked out by her boyfriend. Now, we hadn't really kept in touch, but having been homeless before, I wanted to help. So since I had the room, I invited her in. She stated that her unemployment had not yet kicked in, but when it did, we agreed that her rent would be 200.00 a month and when she was totally on her feet, FI she chose to stay, then she would be responsible for half the rent (400.00)She stated that the guy made her leave because she had been laid off due to lack of buisness and it had been three weeks since she had worked. Well, I asked her if she would like my help , which she stated that she would. I asked her what she liked to do and she stated she had fun working at daycares. Within 3 days, using networking, I found her a place of employment. For whatever reason, she quit that job and once again unemployed. Within one week, her old boss called her and said she needed her to come back to work. Now, she was making 2400.00 per month. I felt that since that was the case, she should pay the 400.00. We talked about it and all was well. Witin days, I noticed that she was spending more time at home. When I asked her about it, sahe stated that the buisiness was closed that week due to a family emergency. Well, the very next week was time to pay rent and of course she disappeared for threee days. I paid her half of course and she made up some BS story about how she was scared to tell me that that boss had let her go AGAIN and she had not renewed her unemployment. Well, she asks me to purchase her cigarettes and food and at first, it wasn't a big deal, but now it seems like she isn't interested in working at all. I have tried being uplifting and even set up interviews (she didn't go) gave her bus fare for interviews (the ones she didn't go to)- I tried EVERYTHING. I spoke with her and told her she would have to leave if she didn't help herself FIRST and then contribute. Still nothing. So is it wrong to find her a shelter to live in? We have several with work programs in the area, and as much as I have tried to help, I think I have made it a little too comfortable for her. Would it be wrong to find her a shelter then assist her in moving? Or is there something I have'nt tried with her that I should? Thank you all in advance and blessings!

  • Okay, so Another Question about Spiritual Protocol?

I am all about this stuff today! So during Christmas break, I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping and a mother was asking another what she thought about a book. It was a book on Fairys and her daughter apparently would love it as she is a fairy enthusiast. The other mother told her that she would never buy a book that would deter her daughter from the teachings of the Lord. I couldn't for the life of e figure out how a book on fairies would do that! This was one of those times where I think that people take the teachings of the Bible way too literally. I have a daughter who believes in Santa Claus and also knows Jesus. Am I confusing her or leading her astray by allowing her to believe in Santa, or if she wanted to, fairies? I do not personally believe God is so strict. I live Irish history and one of their biggest things in their folklore was of about fairies and they are very Catholic. What do you think? Is it okay to allow your children to believe in fairies and Santa and the Easter bunny? Are you doing a disservice to God by doing so?

  • Have a Question; Agnostics/Atheists?

I accidentally put this question in the wrong category before but here we go: Since Agnostics are "undecided" as to the existance of God because of lack of evidence, and Atheists simply don;t believe in God, then my question is, if Judgement Day arrives and the Lord comes, do the Agnostics still get a chance to go to Heaven since technically they didn't DIsbelieve in God, they simply needed more proof? Or is would they still not make it to heaven since they did not go by Faith and simply BELIEVE?

I have been interested in learning what exactly you believe, so I began to research late yesterday. I am usually open to most everything I learn about other peoples religions, but this.....this was weird. So I need to know, why if this is clearly a cult, do you call it a RELIGION? And who the heck is your God? Is that Xenu martian your god? Please explain, because it is CLEARLY a hoax. Noone could truly believe this. With all due respect, that is.

  • I am Going To Ireland?

and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to fill a month of downtime? What are some places that I don;t want to miss? Some things I views of scenic land that should see? Most of all, where are some small towns that are full of history and friendly (I am black, and I fear being the only black person there! Lol!) I have often read of the Irish folklore involving faeries...are there any parts of the land where they could tell me some wonderful stories about this? Thanks!

  • My Baby is Getting Immunized?

My Belle is getting immunized today. She is five months old (her pediatrician said it was okay to wait until now for her shots because of the autism scare associated with DTP shot) and she has a slight cold. I called ahead to see if it would be okay for her to recieve immunizations even though she has a cold and her doctor said it would be okay. I recall not being able to take your child for immunizations unless they were totally healthy. So my question is, would you hold off on getting the immunizations with your child if he or she had a cold? And yes, it is only a cold...

  • Have a Plumbing Question?

Hello, my question is this: We own an rental home and our tenant unfortunately did not pay their water bill and the water was shut off. After the water was restored to the home, the water pressure in the bathroom sink now has very low pressure. This problem did not eist before the water was turned off so I was wondering what could be the issue? could there be an air pocket, and if so, how would I find out WHERE said airpocket is in the water line and how would I bleed it? Or could it be sludge, or what other problems could it be? If you could name some problems and give some solutions, your help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for all your answers.
