  • how come there are ONLY white people on the WOWPhilippines HP?

    www.wowphilippines.com.ph

If you look at the home page of that site, you can see a WHITE Surfer and a WHITE diver... I am, by all means, not a racist, but isn't it that this site should promote the PHILIPPINES? Or do we (Filipinos) have such an inferiority complex that we have to use Caucasian models?

  • Projects of mayors, councilmen, president....etc.? (see details)?

Here's the deal... Whenever "common people" see a signage that says "project of mayor A", "project of councilman B", people are deceived and tend to believe that "mayor A", "councilman B" etc. are actually spending money on those projects, whereas we all know that they MAKE money of of those projects. I am sure that those politicians do not spend a single centavo on those projects. I know that it is ME and EVERY taxpayer that pays for those projects. where is OUR acknowledgment? Why do people let themselves be deceived into thinking that politicians actually spend money? How can we educate the people and let them know that they are exploited by the deception of thinking that private funds of politicians sponsor projects whereas it is the people that paid for everything?

  • What's up with Baguio's finest (Police)? (see details)?

This question makes the same point as my previous question. What does "Baguio's finest" really mean. There is only one group o Police here in Baguio. They are the "finest", the "worst", the "prettiest", the "best", the "most corrupt", the "most honest" etc. I hope you get my point. They just ARE.... Does it really matter to call them "Finest"?

  • Have you seen the signs "priority project of GMA"? (please read the detail)?

I see those signs on EVERY public construction sites all over the country. Here in Baguio there are hundreds of them on all the streets. Isn't it that it defeats the purpose if EVERY project is Priority? That would make EVERY project neglect able as well, since there i absolutely no value to it.

What do you think about it

  • If the Philippines was POOR? (look at the details)?

Why do we have two of the biggest malls in the WORLD?

Why are there ICE SKATING rings in those malls?

Why are there hundreds of millions NEW CARS driving around? (expedition, F150, CR-V etc...)

Why is Rice SO expensive? (compared to other countries)

Why is gas SO expensive? (Compared to income)

Why do we have areas like Forbes, The Fort etc.?

Why does everyone have the latest model cellphone?

  • Do you think the Government is keeping the Filipinos "stupid"?

I don't mean that Filipinos ARE stupid. I just think that the Government is keeping the "common tao" stupid in a sense of showing those grotesque shows like "Wawawee, Lobo etc."

PLUS, Have you ever seen handouts of procedures on what to do step by step if you want to pay tax, open a business, purchase a lot, a car etc.... I really miss those instructions from out "quasi-government" that go like:

    1. Prepare your papers ("Papers needed")

    2. Go to "blahblah department"

    3. Present your papers

    ...

It is as if the Government consciously keeps the "common" people in the dark in order to boost their "EGO-POWER TRIP" and as a means for corruption.

  • Do you believe Filipinos are "self-raceists"?

I noticed that here in the Philippines the "common" people are treated like crap. It is so hard for a Filipino to open shop in their own country. It is bound with too many costs that the "average" Filipino has a hard time paying, plus there is a waiting period of at least 3-4 weeks before you can actually start your business. it may be even longer if you don't put money under the table.

Another observation is that "imported" goods, to the eye of the Filipino are almost always better than local!

And again, how many times did you stumble over the phrase "export quality" whenever Filipinos want to advertise for locally produced goods?! So I am thinking:"If it is for the local market, they don't put much effort in the production?!"

  • "Proud to be Pinoy"...What does it REALLY mean?

I always come across people telling me:"I'm proud to be a Filipino!" But what does it really mean? What are you proud of? Why are you proud of what you were born into?

  • Filipino copycats. Do you think that is good/right?

    Lastikman=Mr. Fantastic of the F4

    Desperadas=Desperate Housewifes

    NOYPI=X-Men

    etc...

If you have any more ideas, feel free to add.

I believe that it is wrong to sell those Ideas as original.

  • Followup question to:"Can the MMDA confiscate your drivers license"?

I read in the answers of the previously asked question that the MMDA or whoever can not confiscate your drivers license. Here is my question to that:

"Who can actually confiscate your license and do you know of any law or link or any proof that they can't?

Thanks so much, because I have been a victim of "speeding" on the North Luzon "express" way and my license was confiscated. I got a temporary license which was valid for 3 days, but I only got my real license back after 2 weeks, so I had to drive around without license over Christmas and new year.

  • Do you agree that Drivers in the Philippines are rude?

I live in Baguio and in La Union and in both places I observe the same phenomena:

    - Cutting you off

    - If you leave a bit of safety distance between you and the driver in front of you, the guy at the back will overtake you and "singit" in the space (La Union)

    - Drivers from the VERY left lane block all 3 possible lanes to turn into a street on the right (Jeepney drivers (Pacdal/Navy Base) in Baguio)

    - Overtaking on the shoulder or on your right (LU)

    - Overtaking on your right to reach the bridge/crossing where they will try to "singit" back into traffic (Baguio/LU)

    - Glaring you with high beam setting

    - Making a green light a "go race" light

    - Driving at night with only ONE headlight (LU)

    - Driving at night with NO headlight, back light and/or breaklights (LU Jeepneys and Trycicle)

Those are my experiences plus MANY more that are too much to mention here because of the lack of space. Feel free to add.

  • Do you think 100km/h is a good speed limit on NLE?

I was caught going 126km/h on NLE. The guys there told me that there is a speed limit of ONLY 100km/h. I believe it is called an "express" way! 100km/h to me is very SLOW. It would take a VERY long time from Balintawak to Dau (vice versa).

  • How to get my thunderbird e-mails back?

I am using thunderbird on windows vista. I needed to reformat and vista said that all the files were saved in a "windows.old" folder. I found everything, just that I'd love to have my old e-mails from my previous instalation of thunderbird.

  • Can postpartum depression occur even after 2 years?

My wife is acting really strange... She has big mood swings, she gets bored with everything so quickly, is never in the mood for anything and gets irritated with almost everything I say or do, to the point that she becomes aggressive which makes me aggressive (not physically).
