final impedance ohm load from my speakers and subs on a full 6 channel class d amp?
Hi.
I have a question about the final impedance of my speakers and subs.
I have a CT Sounds at-150.6 (6 ch) amp.....i want to run 4 d2 ohm subs on 4 of it s channels and four single 4 ohm speakers on the other 2.
Now mind you, there are no sub channels on this particular amp but just flat out 6 channels.
Anyway, what will be the final ohm load with this setup?
BTW, i don t want a final impedance under a 2 ohm load whereas the amp will go into protect.
Thanks

1 AnswerCar Audio5 years agohow can i measure my subwoofer's power rating, it's output, and performance from reading it's parameter specs?
Hi, I just received a email from "Fix my speaker.com/psi with my upgrade sub's specs after a moderate break in.
https://m.mg.mail.yahoo.com/hg/search/?.intl=us&.l...
I don't have much knowledge in reading those specs other than RMS power, xmax, and sensitivity.
I wonder if anyone with experience can tell me if this would be at least close to the monster 2000+ watts SQL 12" sub I ask them to upgrade my Rockford rfr-3110 sub into?
Is there a way to tell how many watts this sub would take and what kind of output and performance for daily use and in what size box from reading this chart?

2 AnswersCar Audio6 years agoSoundqubed q1-2200 on two SSA gcon 10's?
Hello
I wanna know if the gcon 10's will be able to handle that amp at 1 ohm?
I heard that the gcons were underrated and can take some power but will 2200 + watts rms would be too much for just the two of them?
Emailed Sound Solutions Audio over a week and asked the same question but I still haven't gotten a reply from them.
Thanks:)
2 AnswersCar Audio7 years agocan 20" wheels damage the suspension system and drive train on my '94 BMW 740il (e32)?
I got a set of brand new Stern Yoshi st6 chrome 20" rims to give my car more of the "pimp ride" but classy look.
I want to if know if those rims will do damages to my car, and what kind of damage and so on.
the fitments are...
5x120 13mm 8.5
If they won't damage anything, then I will get 245x30x20 tires and the correct bolt pattern spacers for them.
i know this will be sacrificial to the ride quality and acceleration performance but for me, it would be a small one if it isn't too bad.
well there you have it.
will it be worth it for the looks are will it cause me a major financial regret?
thx:)
2 AnswersBMW8 years ago20" rims on a 1994 BMW 740il e32?
Hello, I just bought a set of Stern Yoshi st6 20" wheels for my car.
the fitment is 5x120 13mm and they're not staggered.
My idea is to get either 245x35x20 tires all around or 245x35x20 for the fronts and 275x35x20 for the rears.
anyway, my question is did I make a big mistake and should have went with 18's or can I worked something out with the 20's without having problems and expensive modding?
thanks
2 AnswersBMW8 years agoPart 2 of my last question....(the forgotten details)?
I forgot to mention that my vvx 10's will be going in a custom made box I had built for the subs.
Specs...3.5 cubes,44" of port area,and tuned to 32hz
Btw,nothing has been installed yet so right now I am very curious.
Just hoping that I won't need a HO alt.
If so, well it will be a 200a alt from Excessive Amperage (the only company that will build one for my car).
Thanks again:)
1 AnswerCar Audio8 years agoWhat I should expect from my new setup in terms of sound quality & loudness?
1st...the vehicle
'94 BMW 740il 4.0 v8 sedan
2nd...the sound system
1) Skar sk-1500.1
2) Skar sk-85.4
3) Skar vvx10 d4 subs (x2)
4) Skar vxi65c (2 sets) and will be going in speaker pods in front doors (premade or custom)
5) Alpine cda-117 head unit
3rd...electrical
1) stock 140a alt
2) Knukonceptz wiring throughout (0g,4g with guage reducers,& 12g for speakers)
3) Kinetik hc1200 (starter),hc1400 (x3) (for reserve)
4) Hush Mat sound deadner for trunk
5) Stinger volt meter
BTW, the mid section of the rear seats can fold down so I believe that will help the bass to get in the cab area.
So there you have it.
What do you all think?
Thanks:)
1 AnswerCar Audio8 years ago(from my last question) @ Al Bundy... it's the old Punch 600a4,not the new version.?
It is the black and silver one with the end caps.
Btw, not all 4 channel amplifiers are class AB.
Rockford actually makes a 4 channel Prime series that happens to be a class D model so you know.
Now back to the the orginal question, will that old school 600a4 a class AB and good for my comps?
Thx:)
2 AnswersCar Audio8 years agoRockford Fosgate punch 600a4 a class AB amp?
Can it be used to power 2 sets of 4 ohm component speakers (Skar vxi6.5c) that are rated at 120 wrms per side?
Heard they were great, underrated amps and quite beasty back in the day.
Seen one mint for a good price and was thinking about getting it for my comps if it can be used for mids and highs.
1 AnswerCar Audio8 years agoAutotek ss490.4 a good quality old school amp?
Would also like to know if they are underrated and what voltage they are rated at.
It's 75x4 @ 4 ohms and 100x4 at 2.
i'm interested in getting one to power 2 sets of my 120w rms (per side) 6.5" comps.
Thanks:)
1 AnswerCar Audio8 years agolouder and better sounding silk dome or titanium tweeters for RE Audio xxx6.5c's?
Everyone gives good reviews on the mids but seem to kinda diss the tweets.
So is there anyone out there who can tell me what would be a better set of tweeters and also, better crossovers (if I would need new ones) for the xxx mid set.
Thx:)

1 AnswerCar Audio8 years agoA good box design for two Skar vvx 10's?
Just bought them and they will be running off a Crescendo bc2k @ 1 ohm and want to put them in a 3.5 cube box.
Will also be a trunk setup (in a '94 BMW 740il).
I was told by Kevin (owner of Skar) that a 3.5 cubes is good and to give them about anywhere from 40-45 inches of port.
I really want to put them in a bandpass because those subs look pretty and badazz.
Anymore input from anyone who are experienced with these subs would be great.
Thx!
2 AnswersCar Audio8 years agoWhat 6.5" component speaker(s) more powerful than Lanzar opti6c and RE Audio xxx65c?
Lanzar opti6c.....250w rms 4 ohm (per side).
With a 3" coil, it can take maybe a little over 300w rms.
RE Audio xxx65c....150w rms 2 ohm (per side).
can take double it's power ratings.
I need 2 sets of some mean **** 6.5" comps that can take the power from my Crescendo c1100.4 (300w rms x4 @ 4 ohms) without having to go too far over their power ratings.
I personally think there isn't a 6.5" car component set out there that can top the Lanzar opti6c's power rating.
I searched and searched and couldn't find anything.
2 AnswersCar Audio8 years agoOne of my Memphis Madmax Mojo 15 has a coil rub on the magnet. a simple fix or should I leave it to a pro?
I ordered 2 of those Madmax Mojo 15's off Ebay because I thought it would be a steal for just $200 for both subs + 2 extra Mojo 15" baskets.
They all arrived disassembled and I when I checked them out, I noticed that the coil on one of them look like it shifted and is rubbing against the magnet.
Tried to move it by hand but it wouldn't budge.
Can this have happened because the coil may have gotten so hot that it fused itself to the magnet?
Anyway, the seller told me about it when I asked more about their specs and capabilities after it was delievered.
He told me it will still play with no problems and doesn't affect the performance.
Btw,i believe the person he was selling them for has used them in comps.
Kinda worried but I think I still got a great deal.
Thx:)
1 AnswerCar Audio8 years agoFor my '94 BMW 740il e32 (4.0V8),what would be the most powerful HO alternator it can handle?
I'm looking to upgrade my car's electrical system for a loud audio setup.
my amps....
(1) Crescendo bc2000d (1 ohm » 2250w rms @ 13.8) for now.
May go to 3000w rms later
(1) Crescendo c1100.4 (1200w rms)
HU...
Alpine cda-117
Electrical....
KnuKonceptz 0 guage wiring throughout (for amps and big 3).
(1) Kinetik hc850 (starter)
(3) Kinetik hc1400's (backups).
(1) Stinger volt meter (blue)
Now,with all the items I mentioned, I believe that I would have to go with at least a 200a alt to handle the power.
It is very hard to find a alt for this car because of the electronics and computer controlled components that runs the car's electrical system.
I did however called Mechman and they told me that they can sell me a 270a universal alt but I will need to have a bracket made.
Don't know if I should get it because the car's E-system may not be able to handle it and may be too costly to have a braket made for it for what it's worth.
I am also waiting for Ohio Generators to call back to let me know if they can build me one for my car.
Anyway, is there anyone here that know this particular model and year BMW can give me any ideas or suggestions that can help solve this scenario for a HO alt?
Thx:)
1 AnswerBMW8 years ago200+ amps h.o. alt for a '94 BMW 740il (e32) model?
I am having a hard time finding someone who builds HO alts for my car.
The power I will be running for now will be a Crescendo BC2K,Crescendo c1100.4,may get a 200w rms amp tor my tweeters, and HU is a Alpine CDA-117.
Total power will he roughly around 3600w rms.
anyway, the only one so far has offered me anything was Mechman.
A 270a universal alt.
Steve I believe his name was said I can use the one he mentioned but I will need to have a bracket made to make it fit.
I'm not sure if it will work because that model Bimmer has a lot of electronics going on in it and 270a's may be to much for it regardless of the fact that it's a 4.0 V8..
not doubting Mechman by any means but I will hate to spend $400+ on that alt and found out it dosen't work for my car.
I also called Stinger and they don't build any either.
I was thinking about seeing if I can just have the stock one upgraded or something but don't know if I can or it may cost more than what it's worth.
Some great advice, recommendations,or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thx:)
1 AnswerCar Audio8 years agoCan PA mids speakers put out noticable midbass in custom speaker door pods?
I have 2 sets of Crescendo pwx-8's and I was planning on having them put in .8 pods for the front and rear doors of my '94 BMW 740IL and was hoping that I will get nice, loud, and clear midbass from them.
I will follow what the specs say for as mounting depth,width....etc.
I heard that PA drivers can get extremely loud and can be heard from many yards away however but their downside would be having a little to no midbass.
Don't know if they meant with or without speaker pods or whatever.
Anyway,I have 4 ft1 supertweets and was thinking about having them mounted along with the speakers and add crossovers to make them perform like components and may have them run either off the HU or a low powered amp (something like 100 Watts for the four) to smooth out the sound to where they wouldn't be too harsh but sound amazing.
If that don't work for the supertweeters, then perhaps I will switch over to silk dome tweets.
BTW, sorry if I may have gotten a little carried away with some additional info on the mids and highs other then my original question but I just wanted to give you all an idea what kind of setup I wanted to go with.
So what do you all think, will customized speaker door pods make great midbass from the pwx-8's?
Can the ft1's sound just as good as highend component speakers using the right crossovers?
Please help....thx:)
1 AnswerCar Audio8 years agoCan I have my 2 12" sub enclosure split and made into two single 12" sub enclosures?
Ok,this is a strange question.
I have two AQ hdc3 12" subs in a 5 cube box with 40" of port and tuned to 38hz.
I wanna know if I can have this same box some kind of way, divided into two seperate boxes and narrow both down to 2.5 cubes,40" of port ,and maybe try tuning each box differently.
I myself don't see the reason why it can't be done simply because it seems to me like it's two boxes made into one despite the fact it was originally built to be a dual sub enclosure.
The idea is to keep from spending more money on having 2 more built for each AQ sub.
I'm giving one to my baby sister and will keep the other for myself.
I just bought a '94 740il (BMW) and really don't wanna have a big box in the trunk.
Well, what do any of you think?
Can it be done with that box?
Thx!
