  • Rockaway Beach or Neskowin?

My family and I, Denver residents, are looking to rent a vacation house in Oregon in late June, and we want to know what others might think of Neskowin. We have stayed in Rockaway Beach & Seaside in the past, but are looking to go a little further down the coast. Neskowin looks nice and secluded, not far from Lincoln City, but would it be a good place to stay for 1 week with 2 children, ages 5 & 10? Any help would be appreciated :)

  • FYI for all of us bumped to 2/7? Info from IRS this A.M.?

I filed on 1/17 @ 4, accepted 1/18 @ 4 pm. Last saturday, finally found info on WMR for a "by" DD date of 2/7. Wednesday, I had an update of something to the tune of "Your expected refund date has been changed due to processing delays, you should receive your refund by 2/7" Yes, bumped twice to 2/7. Still no DD date on WMR, just the 2/7 "by" date. BTW, my refund is being processed on the old system.

SO, after calling twice before about this earlier in the week, the IRS guy I spoke w/ this morning was very pleasant and very helpul. Turns out, he has also been bumped to 2/7, which made me think he was more human :) Anyway, he told me that the delays are due to the overwhelming amount of pre-filers, those who submitted their returns before the processing start date of 1/17, which choked the system. So, what happened to me, and he said, what happened to most early filers, was that so many returns got manually pulled and put into error processing, despite returns not having errors, then put back into the system to be processed. This was so the system could process returns quicker, because of the backload of returns.

He said that I should see an update this weekend or Wednesday at the latest with an actual DD date. He did not see why we would be pushed back again. He also said that many 2/7 filers should be getting (and most are already) 1/31 & 2/1 DD dates, & if I don't have one on Monday, to call back again. He said at the latest, we should have a 2/3 DD date.

Hope this helps any of you in my situation :)

  • I have a DCN on my return, so I'm old system, bumped to 2/7 date twice, anyone bumped to 2/21 on old system or?

have any info on exact DD date? i filed on 1/17 @ 4pm, accepted return 1/18 @ 4pm, first WMR status update Saturday for 2/7. Yesterday, WMR & hotline updated info, saying my expected DD date has been changed due to processing delays and can expect it on ... 2/7 (same date). No new update today. I have a Declaration Control Number on my return, which means it will be processed with old system. Is it the old system that is having all the problems or the new one which is bumping people? I'm sure both are slow, but those with the 2/21 date who filed around the same time as me, were you bumped twice like I was or are your on the new/old system? If I'm on the old system, that would mean, most likely, I wouldn't receive mine until 2/3 at the earliest? Have called IRS yesterday & day before, just getting the "3 weeks for processing" answer. Thanks for any nice, helpful answers. :)

  • In the 1/25 now 2/7 refund boat like so many. question is, will WMR & hotline update before next week or...?

will it update on a daily basis? very conflicting info out there in forum world and the irs hasn't been helpful. and, yes, I am aware i'll "get it when i get it", but just wondering if anyone knows. I know the IRS refund cycle chart has me on there for the 1st, WMR has me for a DD BY the 7th, but I also know DDs are being made Mon-Fri and people's dates keep changing left & right. So, does anyone know if the new message that updated for me this morning mean that it won't change until next week? Hope this makes sense and thanks for any kind answers :)

  • E-filed on 1/17, didn't get transmitted to IRS until 1/18 @ 1pm, accepted by IRS 1/18 @ 4pm...?

WMR didn't have info on my refund until this morning, which said "should receive refund by 2/7." However, it seems that many others who got their returns accepted later in the day on 1/18 & even on 1/19 have a date to receive refund by of 1/31, which many say will make the 1/25 DD day. Is anyone else in this position (filed when I did, got the 2/7 date), have had their WMR info date bumped up to 1/31 or have an actual DD date that is for next week, even though the WMR originally said receive by 2/7? Kind of counting on the refund, though I know many of you will say to have patience or have more taxes taken out during the year, etc., but I just want a little peace of mind, especially considering it is the weekend. I also did read that the IRS is doing deposits Mon.- Fri, so I was wondering if my chances are good of receiving it sometime this week? Thanks :)
