  • Antivirus software, which is the best?

I need to buy antivirus software for my laptops. I am currently using Trend Micro Internet Security and am not too satisfied with it. I have used Norton in the past and did not like it. What is the best software, with the best protection for a PC notebook? Price is not an issue.

One of my computers runs on Windows XP and the other is Vista if it makes a difference.

  • Chi flat iron versus Babybliss?

I need a new flat iron and am debating between the Chi and Babybliss. I have long wavy hair and my sister has long curly hair. If you have either of these products are you satisfied?

  • Palm Lifedrive will not reset and is frozen?

I have a Palm Lifedrive for over a year (so the warranty is over). It was frozen so I tried reseting it (both soft and hard reset) with no results. When I turn it on the Palm logo appears and it makes a ticking sound which I'm afraid may mean the hard drive was damaged. Online tech support could not help me they told me to reset which I already did. I'm hoping someone can help me because it costs over $100 to ship the device to Palm for service.

If the hard drive is shot what are my options? Is this something I can fix on my own or will I need to get a new hard drive?

Any opinions or answers are appreciated.

  • High speed internet access?

I am interested in upgrading to a high speed connection (I have the dreaded dial up currently).

    Several questions:

    1. DSL versus cable- what's the difference or is there?

    2. When comparing providers what should I look for (aside from price?)

    3. Are there any websites that tell you which providers work well in your area?

    4. Does anyone use Verizon and what are your thoughts? (I'm in the NYC area if that matters)

Please use non-techie language as I'm still a rookie in this area! Any other info on high speed connections would be helpful.

    Thanks!
