  • Is this muscularskeletal?

Yesterday I started having severe abdominal pain in the right upper quadrant, right under my rib cage. It started getting worse over a few hours and it got so bad I couldn’t move or breathe (moving didn’t make the pain worse, I just had to much pain to do anything) the pain subsided and started to come and go throughout the day. The pain started to really move to my right shoulder. The pain was so unbearable in my shoulder it was the same as before, I couldn’t do anything to make it stop. If I pressed under my rib where it hurt earlier I would feel the pain in my shoulder. I took ibuprofen about 9-10 hours into the pain. It didn’t really do anything until 2 hours later once I was in the emergency room because the pain was so unbearable. After a chest X-ray and ekg they told me it was muscularskeletal pain and it was normal because I was growing. I haven’t grown in over a year and I’ve had that growing pain in my ribs before but it lasted 5 minutes. Definitely not 12 hours. The ER doctor didn’t have any reason why the pain correlated with my shoulder, and sent me home. I thought it might be something gallbladder related. It is really just growing pains?
