  • GTX660Ti 3GB OC or GTX670 WF2 2GB?

I'm planning to update my computer after a couple of years and now I'm deciding between these two GPU's. It was amazing back then (GTX 285 as GPU) but now that I downloaded Tomb Raider, I noticed that I cannot get decent frames even on Normal settings.

    Gigabyte GTX660Ti 3GB OC

    Gigabyte GTX670 WF2 2GB

    http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=prod...

I cannot find a proper review on the 660Ti 3GB or any comparison with it with the 670. By looking at their summaries (I am not that familiar with hardware), they are almost on par with each other. I'm keen on the 660Ti as it is cheaper, has a nice cooler and bigger memory but the price gap is too small if the 670 can perform better.

I live in Australia so sites like newegg (better prices but doesn't ship international) is not an option for me and I've been a frequent customer on the website I'm using.

I am buying on a budget by the way so any pro's and cons between the two?

  • WiFi router and modem 24/7 electric consumption cost?

We recently installed WiFi network and became dependent on it for every gadget in our home, from smart phones to laptops and consoles.

How much will it cost approximately on the electric bill if we left it 24/7? Would it impact our bill that much?

Note that we have the standard 3-pronged Australian (Sydney) socket. Router is a Cisco Linksys E1500 and the default Bigpond modem. If it matters, there are usually 3 people connected to the WiFi most of the time.

  • ASUS GTX560Ti DirectCu2 OC amperage question?

I'm keen on knowing how much A's, or the amperage, on a power supply rail is needed on an ASUS GTX560Ti DirectCu2 Overclocked?

    http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=prod...

The power supply I am going to use for the card is an Antec EA-650 Platinum

    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Antec/EA-650_Pl...

I got paranoid when I knew that the PSU is on a split rails with 30A on a +12V, so Im not sure it is enough.

I am not good with hardware I just got the terms on research.

    Thanks!

  • How many watts should I get on my power supply?

I'm planning on upgrading entirely my 4-year old gaming desktop as it is now starting to show it's age.

Can anyone help me how massive in terms watts do I need on my PSU? Like maybe a rough measurement?

I tried doing the online PSU calculators but all of them have different results (results ranged from 450W-600W) so I thought why not ask people that are great or have experience in these kind of hardware building/maintenance.

The specs are (I'm not sure of the exact name of some of the hardware):

    Intel Core i7 920

ASUS GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II Overclocked 1GB

    2x Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm

    3x 2GB DDR3 RAM

2x small in-built fan from desktop casing

    Windows 7 64-bit

I guess that's everything inside right now. Except the stock overclock from the video card, no other part is OC'ed. I have my eyes on 650W (Antec EA-650 Platinum) but I'm not sure if it is enough (or over) as I'm not good with PC hardware.

  • How often does uTorrent auto saves my downloads?

I just downloaded uTorrent and I'm just curious how often does it auto saves my downloads.

The previous program I use does this and it guarantees the entire file wont be corrupted when a black out happens or a PC crash. Pretty useful when I grab gigabytes of data and leave my PC on when downloading.

Been googling it but cannot find proper info..

    Any one have an answer?

  • Do I need a third-party cooler on my upcoming computer?

I'm currently waiting for our custom built computer ordered through the internet. It has an Intel i7 920 processor, 3x2GB RAM, 500GB HDD's and an Nvidia GTX 285 GPU relying on a 750watt PSU.

My question is, well, do I need a third party fan for it because I'm worried the CPU or the video card (or any parts of it) might reach temps. that can be harmful. I will use this PC for not-so-hardcore gaming (next-gen games like Fallout 3 etc.) and school purposes ONLY and I really have NO intention of overclocking any parts of it. Usual computer usage will be like 4 to 6 hours max. The only cooling solution I can think that's in my PC is the stock and in-built heatsinks in the parts and a 120mm frameless fan on a Soprano RS100 casing it has.

Do I need to have that extra cooling? or it's OK to leave it just it is?

    Thanks for your help(s)!
