Interest rate question?
A person receives a payment of $151,382.26, of which $51,385.12 is interest. The interest is earned over 3,751 days--what rate of interest is being paid per year?
If you could provide the calculations, I would appreciate it.

1 AnswerCredit1 decade agoHow to format hard drive in WIN XP?
I am trying to format the my c:\ drive on an old Win XP machine that I am returning to Dell for recycling. The machine used to have some personal information that I'd rather not be floating around.
I am trying to to a format c: from a DOS prompt, but it keeps saying:
Format cannot run because the volume is in use by another process.
It asks me if I want to force it, and I say "yes", but it says:
Canoot lock the drive, the volume is still in use.
How do I just format the thing?
THanks
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoIncrease in spam on Yahoo Mail?
Has anyone else noticed a huge increase in the amount of spam that is making it through Yahoo Mail's filters of late? I used to get only a couple pieces a week; in the last 3 or 4 days, I've probably gotten 100 easily. Anyone else?

I constantly get the following message when trying to load the new Yahoo Mail. Constantly. What causes this, and what can be done to fix it?

Mail appears to be taking longer to load than usual.
This could be a temporary glitch. Try refreshing your page. Or for this session only, click here to see if Mail Classic loads faster.

I have a laptop running WinXP and IE 7.0.5730.11. Today, without explanation, when launching IE, I just get a garbled mess. IE doesn't seem to fully launch, it doesn't display the File/Edit/View/etc task bar, my favorites bar, and can't display any pages. After fumbling around with my laptop for an hour, I found the "Launch without Add Ins" option, and it launches fine, displays page, allows me to post here, etc...obviously, it's not fully functional (no video, Flash animations, etc). Is there a way to toggle the individual add ins to see what's causing the problem? I think it's somehow related to McAfee spamkiller or site minder or something, but that's just a gut feel...but I cannot figure out how to disable the individual add ins (the "real" IE just will not launch).
Help!
Thanks

2 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoUnable to log in to Yahoo services?
I am unable to log in to Yahoo on one of my PC's. When I click on any page that would require me to enter my Yahoo ID and password, the screen just flickers (not the monitor, but the page itself). It rapidly loads and reloads the log in page, but it never finishes, and I cannot enter my ID and password. I'm not sure what the problem could be; it's not my ID because I can't even get to the log in page on that machine, and it works on this PC, which does not share the same internet connection. I am totally lost. THanks
2 AnswersNotices and Errors1 decade agoScanner question?
I have a series of printed documents that I am looking to scan, and have an editable Microsoft Word document as an output. I have the hard copy, but not the actual MS Word file. Is this possible, and if so what type of scanner and/or software would I need. Thanks.
4 AnswersScanners1 decade agoUnable to log in to Yahoo Mail?
I am unable to log in to Yahoo mail via my PC's today. I can get in to all other Yahoo functions requiring a password (Answers, Fantasy Sports, etc), but the Yahoo Mail page is timing out with "this page cannot be displayed" or similar errors. I have this error on both my machines, which share an internet connection.
I can, however, get to Yahoo Mail from my cell phone...
What could be causing this, or is there some sort of outage?
8 AnswersNotices and Errors1 decade agoNASCAR Rules Question - Yellow Flags, Restarts, Pits?
Can anyone provide the details of the NASCAR rules about caution flags and pit stops? I get so confused when I'm watching a race, and a yellow flag comes out...some times they're all racing for the pits, some times not...some times someone gets a "lap back"...I'm just very confused about how the determine positions coming out of a caution, etc. If anyone can let me know, or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
16 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoExcel Array Formula Question?
In an Excel array formula, is there anyway to have the last argument be a reference to a dynamic range name? I want to summarize data from a sheet where the columns are months. I have named each month as a range name, but I want to months be dynamic. For example:
sum(if((
criteria1=A11)*
(criteria2=$w$2),
aug))
Instead of hardcoding the month at ts the last argument, I want to point it at a reference that says "Aug"...that cell would be dynamic, so as I update the file, the month (and thus the array) would update...
Any thoughts? Thanks!!!
