  • How do I change my computer password when I can get in by fingerprint but not by password?

My laptop has a fingerprint feature. The problem is, I am not accurately remembering my typed password and can ONLY get in now by fingerprint. I know the password sort of, but I have the punctuation or spacing wrong and I've tried many combination possibilities and can't get it right. Unfortunately, in order to change my password, it isn't offering me fingerprint identification as an option in the control panel (fingerprint i.d. is coming up only when I start or restart my computer). I am the administrator of my laptop and there are no other users. I now also have a problem with the start up (unrelated software conflict issue). You can only start up in safe mode with the password, so I'm getting worried that if I don't change my password, one of these times I won't be able to start normally, and won't be able to get into safe mode either. Argh.

    Any ideas?

  • Do K'nex and Lego work together?

I see some brands say on their boxes, "works with Lego," but K'nex doesn't say anything. Anyone out there have both?

    Thanks!

  • Grammatically correct gift? hahaha?

Not to look a gift in the mouth, but my friend and I are wondering if the button i just received is correct. The question is regarding subject and verb agreement.

It reads, "Knitting socks is cheaper than therapy."

Shouldn't it be either, "Knitting socks are cheaper than therapy," or "Knitting a pair of socks is cheaper than therapy?"

Just curious. Okay, and there is a small bet... LOL.

    Thanks!

  • Ideas for making a couple of headboards?

I'm pretty handy and artistic, so i'm open to any techniques. I was thinking of the upholstered type at first, but i think i'd rather try something different. I'd love to hear as many suggestions as possible, as i might use more than one. Links also helpful if you know of any pictures or instructions, but just ideas are great, too! Thank you so much. :)

  • Pomegranite & tea stain on knitting in progress... help!?

    Any suggestions MUCH appreciated!

One of the people i'm teaching to knit is making a beautiful cable sweater in a peach colored cotton yarn. She has already put probably 60 hours of knitting and $80 in yarn into this project, so it's important to find a way to remove this stain.

Her cat, hahaha, had a contibution... to knock pomegranite tea onto the sweater. The stain looks to be a combination of fruit juice and black tea, and has left a purple-ish grayish stain on it.

I thought perhaps she can test Oxi-clean on scrap yarn (we can test any remedy to see if it removes the yarn color). Does anyone have any other suggestions? I hope? Pleeease? :D

  • Memories bring on very low self esteem... is there a way to change this?

I went through some trauma years ago, and usually I'm okay and have an okay self esteem, but when something triggers my memories intensely, my self esteem gets really terrible for many days, and it makes me very depressed. I was wondering today if there might be ways i can sever the connection between having memories come up and my self esteem plummeting, so remembering doesn't bring on the low self esteem... any suggestions?

    Thank you.

  • What are some online bookstores and art stores in Switzerland?

    Hello,

I have an American friend living in Lausanne, Switzerland. She's temporarily stuck there, poor, depressed, and needs more to do, so i'd like to be able to send her art supplies and books in English.

It makes more sense to have stuff sent from a store there than it does to send it from here (particularly as i don't want her to have to pay for duties) but i'm having a lot of trouble finding Swiss online mail order stores of this type. Can anyone offer suggestions, or is anyone in Switzerland reading this who can tell me of some webstores there that sell art or craft supplies or books and can mail to her?

Thank you so much... you'd really be helping this nice young woman! :)
