  • Can you identify this spider?

Can you identify this spider? I've seen a few of them in my house, and they've been kind of bothersome lately.

  • Suggestions on cheaper schools in CA?

I'm originally from the east coast. I applied to schools on the west coast, and I'm glad I came out to the west. I love the atmosphere, and the people here. I currently go to University of the Pacific in Stockton, but due to my family's financial situation, we no longer can afford the school. It's way too expensive, and it's also a private school.

I'm still in the stage where I don't exactly know what I want to do with my life, but my parents are constantly pushing me towards nursing. At first I wanted to go to med school, but now I'm believing that the work load would not be as beneficial to me as a person.

I was thinking that I could go to nursing school. I like to help people (I was in my high school's key club, and liked volunteering at the soup kitchen). At Pacific I enjoyed taking intro to sociology and abnormal psychology. I also liked general bio (I liked the lectures) and gen chem (I liked the labs), but they were really difficult and are apparently notorious for being one of the more difficult subjects for general education in the school.

I was just wondering what people think are pretty good standing, cheaper schools in California. I don't think I'd want to go to a UC (just because they're rather expensive) so maybe a CSU or other state college would be fine.

Thank you for your input. I'll give them some consideration.

  • Eating food I didn't like when I was younger?

I found this quite odd. I'm not sure if there is some sort of trigger, but I noticed that lately I've been eating food that I didn't enjoy when I was younger. Now I'm pretty open to food (as long as it doesn't have stuff like tongue, chicken feet, heart, pig feet, etc)-- haha I guess I'm not that open. Anyway when I was in elementary school I wouldn't eat squid, fig newtons, mint chocolate chip ice cream, but now I do. There are other foods as well.

Is there a reason towards this? Or is it because now I've become so open minded to trying food? When I was younger I didn't mind trying new food, it's just that I could not stand eating these things.

I'm thinking that this might be a really stupid topic, but it's got me interested.

  • Bands that use strings as a main instrument?

I was wondering if anyone knows of bands that regularly use a string instrument. When I say string instrument I don't mean guitar (acoustic/electric). I'm talking about violin, viola, cello, double bass, fiddle, etc.

Bands I know of are Apocalyptica, Break of Reality, Murder by Death, Gracia, Bond, and Rasputina. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions I haven't mentioned, and please explain why you're suggesting these. Either explain by grading the band from a 1-10 (with 1 being lowest score and 10 being highest) or actually write a review on the band.

I'm sorry I'm asking for a lot. Thanks to anyone who replies!
