  • Which do you prefer Preston or Brennan?

So I've posted a couple of questions about baby names in the past couple of days. My fiance is very passionate about our future children's names and I'm pretty vocal about what I like too. He really likes the name Noel for a boy, I don't really so I've suggested Nolan as an alternative. He likes Lila and I like Isla /eye-lah/.

He likes the name Preston. It's not bad, but I'm not a big fan of the name it's a little preppy sounding. I prefer the name Brennan. If he "wins" I get to pick the middle name and have settled on Salvatore (my grandfather's name) and if I "win" the middle name will be Eric (his grandfather's name).

    Which do you prefer?

    Thanks!

  • Which do you prefer Noel or Nolan?

So I posted a question about the girls names Lila and Isla a few minutes ago, now for a boys name!

My fiance is very passionate about our future children's names. He has a very common name (Christopher) and mine wasn't common when I was young, but is now (Abigail). So we both want to avoid a common name and still give our (future) children names that are easy to pronounce and spell.

He loves the name Noel /nole/, I'm not too keen on it and suggested Nolan as an alternative. If I "win" with Nolan the middle name will be Harvey (a middle name he shares with his father, grandfather and great-grandfather) and if I let him "win" the middle name will be James (my father and grandfathers middle name). So which do you prefer?

    Thanks for your help!

(I know some of you will say if I don't love the name then I shouldn't use it, but he loves it enough for both of us and I'm love him enough to let him).

  • Which do you prefer Lila or Isla?

So, my fiance and I get into arguments about baby names pretty frequently. He's obsessed which I think is really funny because I've never met a guy who has been so into picking his future child's name. He's quite picky about names, he prefers Lila /ly-lah/ while I prefer Isla /eye-lah/. We both want to use family names as middle names Elizabeth or Emily. So which do you prefer? Do you think it's fair if I let him "win" with Lila that I push the middle name of Emily (my grandmother's name)?

    Thanks for your help/suggestions!

  • Persistent Concussion Symptoms?

So several weeks ago I suffered a concussion after getting kicked in the head at a soccer game. I went to the hospital and they said it was a type I concussion (I don't really know what the difference is between a type I and the other types and didn't have the foresight to ask then). I'm back to work full time but it's been really hard. I'm constantly exhausted, overly emotional, and cranky. Is it common for a concussions symptoms to persist this long. I've made an appointment with a neurologist but just wanted to see what you had to say. Thanks.

  • I have a concussion and can't sleep?

So the day before yesterday I was playing goalie in a soccer game and stopped a kick taken by an ex-professional with my face. I stumbled around a little then fell to the ground but never passed out. I felt a little loopy but had been kicked in the face before so I stayed on the phone with my boyfriend all the way home, then got back and went to bed. I slept for about two hours. I awoke with blurred vision, a nauseated stomach, and a few other classic signs of a concussion. I went to the hospital and the ER doctor confirmed it after a CAT Scan. Now I've had concussions before I've been playing goalie for 15 or so years and it happens quite frequently. But I've never been unable to sleep because of them. It has nothing to do with the severity of it (the doctor said because I waited so long to go to the hospital the 24 hour observing period had already lapsed...oops) because nobody was waking me up every 2 hours. But the first night I slept 2 hours this past night I slept 4...I'm somebody who needs sleep, like 7 or more hours. I'm not supposed to take ibuprofen, advil or aspirin so I can't take the PM versions of those to help me sleep and I'm not into sleeping pills. But I feel like I won't recover if I don't get an adequate amount of sleep. Our MVP game is in two weeks so I need to be healed by then.

Please let me know if you know of anything that could possibly help me get some sleep! Thank you!

  • What To Bring My Friend Who Just Had a Baby?

I'm going to be visiting my friend in the hospital tomorrow. She just had her baby yesterday and I want to bring her and her little guy something. I wanted to bring her something useful that she could use right away or would need that many people wouldn't think to get. So what is the most useful thing you received right after you had your baby? And I'm thinking something small not the bigger things that she already received at her baby shower (ie. car seat, stroller, crib, etc.)

    Thanks for your help!

  • When Is the Show Bones to Start Again?

Bones went on hiatus after its winter finale on January 12th. Does anyone know when it will be back? I know this season was going to be shortened because of Emily Deschanel's pregnancy but feel like it's been an incredibly long hiatus that is only being worsened by terrible American Idol audtions.

    Thanks!!

  • Questions about honeymoon in Menorca, Spain?

My fiance and I are planning on spending our honeymoon in Menorca, Spain. We want to spend a few days in Barcelona then catch the ferry to Menorca. The only trouble is we don't know where to go exactly. Have you been before? What was your experience there? Is there a specific location where younger people go? We've been to Mallorca and we spent the majority of the time in the northern part of the island. We were not aware that is where German retirees spend their holiday, not that there's a problem with that, it was just a little interesting being the only people under the age of 60 in most places.

  • Question about a Fiancé Visa?

My fiancé is a contracted soccer coach. He's from England, but is contracted out through different companies in the United States. He is being offered a position in Massachusetts (where I live) and a nine month visa, his contract could be extended to 18 months. I'm currently looking into filing for a Fiancé Visa for us to get married. I was reading some FAQs off the website and it stated that if he was in the US for a job and instead got married that it could be a reason for us to be detained. While he is in the US for a job, he's also in the US for us to get married. So here's my actual question; do we still have to file for a Fiancé Visa even if he is here legally on a work visa? What paperwork do we have to file? And could we possibly get arrested or penalized for getting married this way? I understand this question is more directed to a professional immigration officer or attorney, but I'm just curious if anyone knows off the top of their head.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Which middle name do you prefer?

My fiancee and I are talking about baby names (I'm not expecting we're just talking about it). We've agreed on the girls names Lila and Adelaide and the boys names Landon and Noel. Middle names we've picked are Elizabeth and Emily for girls and James, Andrew, and Eric for boys. The middle names are all namesakes of family members. So which middle name do you like with the first names. We aren't going to switch middle for first names because most of these family names are of family members that are still alive.

  • Which combinations do you prefer? (repost)?

So my fiancee and I were talking about baby names the other day and we agreed upon four names (I'm not pregnant we were just talking about the future and the subject of names came up). We've also decided on middle names that once belonged to (or still belong to) relatives, but we can't decide which name gets which middle name. Help us!

    First names:

    GIRLS

    Adelaide

Lilah (which spelling do you prefer? Lylah, Lyla, Lila, Lilah...?)

    BOYS

Noel (Rhymes with the word 'bowl')

    Landon

    Middle names:

    GIRLS

    Emily (my grandmother)

    Elizabeth (his mother)

    BOYS

    James (my father and grandfather)

    Andrew (his father)

Eric (his grandfather and coincidentally my brother)

Which combination sounds best in your opinion. Any other ideas? Thanks for your input!

  • A question about birth control...?

So I'm going on vacation from the 21 December until 3 January. My period is due the 28th. Is there any way to delay my period? I really don't want it coming while I'm on vacation. My sister in law suggested taking my birth control as usual but when I get to the last week skip the placebos and start a new pack. She says she does it all the time, but I'm concerned, is there anything bad about this? Has anyone ever done it before? Sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I just wanted to get some input before I talk to my doctor about it.

    Thanks!

My fiance is from England but living and working in the US on a 1 year visa. We want to start filing for a fiance visa now before he leaves next November. I was reading over something on the internet from the visa offices website and it said Proof of Relationship is needed to apply for a petition. What does that entail?

  • Thoughts on this boys name (repost again)?

Sorry if this is the second or third time you're seeing this but I really want opinions on this name and no one seems to be answering me or understanding me. The name is Cuyler /ky-ler/. It is being spelt C-u-y-l-e-r, not K-y-l-e-r. So don't even suggest it. Sorry if I sound mean, but that's all that I'm getting. Cuyler is a traditional dutch name, Kyler is anglicized americanized fluff that looks ridiculous, childish, and stupid. I also don't really like Schuyler /sky-ler/ so don't bother suggesting that one now.

Along with your opinion if you please I would also like middle name suggestions if you can think of any. The surname will be Jackson.

Thanks for your time, patience, and sorry if I sound mean,

  • Thoughts on this boys name (repost)?

Sorry if you already saw this or answered it, but I wasn't satisfied with the answers I received so decided to repost it. What do you think of the name Cuyler /ky-ler/? It's a traditional Dutch boys name. Schuyler is okay but I much prefer Cuyler. I hate phonetic spellings so I'm sticking with the traditional, I dislike anglicized spellings as they generally look pretty hideous, childish and completely void of the cultural integrity the name once possessed.

So what is your opinion on the boys name Cuyler? What middle names would you pair with it? Surname will be Jackson.

Thank you for your opinion and your patience!
