Hello, I am trying to install windows XP on my laptop and when it tells me to press any key to boot from CD it just freezes.

Before this when it did boot from the CD, and got to the set up part i would get a blue screen error.

But I got Linux to install so im guessing all my hardware is still working fine. does anyone know what is happening?

Hey guys i tried searching this but came up with no luck.

I installed kubuntu using Wubi on my HP Dv-1225dx. I was installing drivers [one for my ati card and wireless] but it crashed on the wireless driver. So i rebooted and now i am getting this message

"Kernel panic - not syncing: VF: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(8,1)"

I tried doing the "set root=(hd0,0)" was at (hd0,1) in both normal and recovery.

I am still new to Linux.

I also can't use the keyboard and the caps lock led is flashing.

I just got fallout 3 and when ever i play it keeps crashing to my desktop.

I'm playing on medium settings.

I have a 64 x2 dual core processor 6000+

Im using XP Pro SP3

GeForce 8800 GT

And i have tryed updaing to 1.7
