I'm happily married to a man I've been in love with since June of 2004. After 7 months of TTC, we're finally pregnant! Waiting to bring a beautiful, healthy bundle of joy into the world <3

  • When Do I Set Up My First Pre-Natal?

Do I set up my first doctor appointment 8 weeks from my last period or 8 weeks from conception?

I had a delayed ovulation and my last period was on June 9th, but I didn't conceive until July 10th.

  • If You Can Read Hebrew, Please Help!?

If so, is this the correct translation of Jeremiah 29:11?

כי אני יודע את התוכניות יש לי בשבילך ", מכריז יהוה," התכניות לשגשג לך ולא לפגוע בך,

מתכננת לתת לך תקווה לעתיד. ירמיה 29:11

I just want to make sure Google translator has the proper sentence structure and isn't just translating words.

  • Women Who Chart Their Cycles?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a while now and I started charting and bought the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility- which is a great read and I decided to try the software that came with it. But I was disappointed with how cheaply it's made and the price they want for the full program. ($40!!! and you only get a 15 day trial, that's not even one cycle!)

Well my husband saw it and he's a programmer and so he said he could easily make his own charting program and provide it at a much more reasonable price. (about $10). So my question for you ladies, what is something you would like to see on a charting program? What features would be helpful (or not so helpful) for you?

  • Legal Name Change 17 Year Old?

My youngest brother will be 17 in may and he wants to have a legal name change because he bears our "father's" last name. This man is not a part of our lives and we have no wish to have any connection to him whatsoever. My mother has sole custody of him right now and our "father" stopped seeing him a year ago because he moved into a new relationship with a lady friend.

Can he have his name legally changed with only our mother's confirmation? Because if the man has to be notified he will say "no", because we're still possessions to him.

  • First time using OPK, is this positive or Neg?

    http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/Sniperbal...

You'll have to use the link as it's high res, I'm confused because half the line is dark and the other half is light, I know if it's lighter than the control line it's usually a negative, what do you experienced ladies (Or observant men, haha!) think?

  • Negative pregnancy test but the negative hasn't faded?

I'm not due for AF until the 31st and didn't plan to test until then, but my mother kept pestering me to "take an early test" so I figured I'd humour her. I used first response at about 6am and got a negative result (Or a positive that's invisible or much too light to see!). The negatives are supposed to fade within 10 minutes, but it's still there 6 hours later... which makes me think it's either faulty or a positive I can't see. (Positives last 48 hours of course.)

Any one else have this experience or know what it could be? I do plan on re-testing on the 31st when I was originally going to.

  • A Gentle Birth Control?

About a year ago, I got implanon and it's great, I really love it except for one thing; the side effects.

The spotting and occasional pains, the breast growth and cravings and metallic taste in my mouth, heart burn, weight gain- they were fine, I could deal with them.

But it's the severe depression I can't deal with and before I got it, my husband told me we'd get it out if I had depression. It's become so bad that I don't enjoy the quality of life and am constantly thinking about my death- not suicide, but my death and fear of not waking up in the morning burdens me every day and every night and I'm losing a lot of sleep over it in fear. I was never like that before. The only time I didn't feel depressed is when I work out, but I can't exercise all day and I've been staying awake until my body forces sleep.

My husband says no anti-depressants and I really would rather not take them anyway- the think I liked about the Implanon was that it's effective 24 hours within insertion and out of your system as early as 24 hours- and we will be TTC in a few months.

So I'd like to know if anyone knows of- or has tried a birth control that:

Stops pregnancy by not releasing eggs; it can't prevent it by means of not allowing the fertilized egg to implant. I consider that a "forced misscarriage" and I couldn't live with myself knowing it was my fault that child didn't have a chance to grow.

Gets out of the system fairly quickly after removal

Prefer not having to place something inside myself (i.e. diaphram, cap, ring)

    doesn't cause depression.

I will of course, ultimately consult a doctor about it but I need somewhere to start.

  • In Need of the Fashion Police!?

My husband hates wearing pants and since we're in California, I can't really blame him on that one. But the thing is, he only has denim shorts that he usually wears with oversize shirts and his fashion hasn't really changed since he was a kid. (He also wears long socks with low cut converse shoes with these shorts!)

Now, I've bought him smaller shirts that fit and are lighter, but I don't know what to do about making him look; well, more "professional" and not so childish while letting him be more comfortable. (Now for interviews I've made him dress nicely in a suit!)

He's also very scrawny so it is hard to find clothes that fit him, so I think he mainly just "Goes with what he can find"

    Refence: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb153/Sniperbal...

(Only photo I have of him full body to show what I mean.)

  • Renting a home/apartment in Ireland?

We'll be moving to Ireland some time next year (On a work permit and applying for citizenship, or rather, immigration and pending citizenship).

Are there websites where I can look for prices and locations of rental home/apartments around the Dublin area? (Outside the city of Dublin, but near it.) Links would be very helpful!

  • Boy's Middle Name, need some help?

We have a name for a baby girl picked out and (finally) got the husband to settle on a Boy's name, but now we need a middle name.

    The name Will be Dreykin

I don't want any grief about "Oh, your kid will be made fun of" because no, actually it's a traditional name where we will be living. Besides, Kids make fun of everything. I was made fun of for having red hair as a kid. If his name was "Bob" he'd be made fun of for having freckles or being short.

    Anyway, any suggestions? :)

  • Sensitive stomach, pain with pressure?

My stomach area is very sensitive and it becomes uncomfortable and painful when pressure is applied to it, (Such as my husband laying his head on my stomach). It's not a shooting pain, it's an uncomfortable pain, sort of like being squashed.

My stomach has been sensitive like this for a long time (last I can really remember I was 12 or 13.) What can cause this? I've tried looking it up, but I can mostly find diseases which I don't think it could be since it's been like this for years.

  • Parental Discipline for Children?

I live in the U.S. currently, but will be moving to Ireland in a year or so and having our first baby there. What I'd like to know as far as discipline goes there, what is and isn't legal discipline?

In the United States, most discipline can be categorized as "Abuse" resulting in undisciplined children who are rebellious as their only punishment is "Being grounded" or "sitting in the corner". When a child knows all they have to do is sit in a room for a while, they're more prone to misbehave as there is no real consequence.

Is spanking legal there? What methods do you use to discipline? (Once they're past 8 or so, spanking becomes a bit inappropriate).

  • Looking to move to Ireland, what needs to be done?

We're looking to move permanently and seek citizenship in Ireland (Which can take up to five years, if I've read correctly) from the U.S. What is the process of getting this done?

Any Irish government links to such would help a lot as well!

  • Get cat to stop biting?

We recently adopted a kitten from a shelter and he's currently 11 weeks old. I had told my husband not to play with the kitten with his hands and only toys or it would learn that body parts are toys and will constantly bite hands, arms and feet when you aren't playing with him.

I've tried giving him a toy whenever he bites instead, but I'm afraid he'll associate biting with receiving a toy. I've also put him out of the room and he calms down for a bit, but then he'll get back to biting.

I'm aware he's a kitten, but it's not a habit that will be just "Grown out of" if he associates it with play time. What should I do to discourage this?
