1 AnswerLyrics9 years agoDoes anybody know any adoption agencies that specialize in military families looking to adopt?
I got rejected from even starting the process through AGCI today, only because my husband is in the Navy. I filled out the pre-application and was emailed and informed that we were an unstable home because of my husbands job. We have been trying to get pregnant for 4 years naturally, and have been contemplating adoption the entire time(my cousins our adopted so I have always wanted to adopt and have biological children as well). Anyway, I have tried to find special agencies but I am not having any luck, any help?
5 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoThis sounds kinda bad but what is the cheapest way to adopt?
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a couple years and some change now and even if we do eventually conceive I still want to adopt a child as well. I was raised with my two cousins who were adopted and it made me want to adopt. Ever since I was 12 I have always said I would adopt at least one of my children. The problem is that we are not wealthy by any means. We get by and try to squirrel away into savings, but adoption is so expensive I fear it will take us 10 years to save that much and the to save up enough to raise a child. Another thing is that I don't really get why it is so expensive. My parents definitely didn't have that kind of money when they had me, but I never went without. I know most people that have kids don't have that kind of money, most of them don't have anything in savings. Well anyway sorry I kind of ranted there. It is just so frustrating to me, as all I want to do is help a child.
8 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoWhat should I do with my cat? Keep or find a better home?
Okay I adopted a cat from the shelter a couple months ago. He is friendly, loves cuddles, playful, and all around the best cat hands down. The problem is the shelter told me he was good with dogs, and he is not. I have given him two months to adjust. I have never rehomed a pet before and I am having a moral dilemma here. So he gets fresh water and food four times a day, he gets cuddles and played with at least 6 hours a day, his litter box changed everyday and he basically has a great life. The problem is that he is basically "stuck" in one of my spare rooms from 12pm to like 10pm because of the dogs. So I am wondering if I should give him to a better home, or let him keep living this way? I am so bonded to him, but I want a better life for him. On the other hand I feel like this is a better life than he had. I can't take him back to the shelter because he would never get adopted out, he is 2 and a half and the reason I adopted him was because the shelter had his tag highlighted with "has accidents outside the litter box", so I knew no one would take him. He has not had a single accident at my house, so I am grateful that I took the chance on him! Anyway any advice would be greatly appreciated.
8 AnswersCats1 decade agoDog acting strange about the weather?
Okay, my dog is 3/4 husky and 1/4 lab. The wind has been going strong here today and I can feel a storm brewing. Well in the last half hour my girl has been acting weird. Like sticking by my side and having to touch me at all times. She is normally pretty independent(the husky part). I was wondering if anyone else thinks this could be her way of warning me about the storm and protecting me. She won't even take a treat right now. Oh and don't suggest she is sick, I know my dog she is not sick. Thanks ahead of the time.
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoDoes anyone have tips for trimming my dogs nails?
My husky/lab is a stubborn girl. I have tried Pedipaws and regular clippers, I can't seem to get her to calm down when I trim her nails. She has actually fractured my nose before. So far the only thing that even semi-calms her down is having my husband rub her belly as a clip and even then it is still tough. Giving her a toy to hang on to doesn't work either. So does anyone have any good tips?
14 AnswersDogs1 decade agoMy Aussie has dry skin?
He has had it since he was a puppy, I have switched foods and still no luck. He DOES NOT scratch or Itch though. He is on flea meds so I know it isn't fleas. Also I quit giving him baths a couple months ago. Any suggestions?
He is almost 7 months.
