  • Pacquiao weigh ins nonsense?

Tell me why they have Ines Sainz as the weigh ins reporter? The two make for an awful interview. Slut Sainz who can barely speak english questioning Manny. It's a wonder he understands anything she asks. How many nobs she have to slob to land this gig?

  • Is Floyd vs Cotto more interesting than Pacquiao vs Cotto II or Margarito?

I personally think that Floyd fighting Cotto is more interesting than Pacquiao. I don't give Cotto a snowballs chance in hell of winning, but it's still more intriguing than watching him rematch Pacquiao just for the sake of Pacquiao getting another trinket.

*Sigh* I seriously want to boycott Bob Arum.

  • Best potential matchups out there?

Here's a quick 4 off the top of my head

1.The obvious, Floyd vs Manny, even though this bout has lost CONSIDERABLE steam

    2. Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Juan Manuel Lopez

    3. Devon Alexander vs Timothy Bradley

    4. Andre Dirrell vs Andre Ward.

Of those 4, only the last is certain to happen. I have it 4th, because even though it is an extremely intriguing matchup, the outcome is already known.

Any more to add? How would you change the order?

Who do you see winning these matchups and how? (KO, TKO, Stoppage, UD, SD, etc)

  • With all the talk of Mayweather Mosley, perhaps this past weekend of boxing has been overlooked?

i wish there was more talk on the boards of the 3 bouts that happened on Saturday. Understandably, there is a quasi megafight just days away. Anyway, I just wanted some people's opinion on Kessler specifically. If you have seen him fight prior to the Andre Ward fight, then you would understand why he was one of the favorites to win the tournament. What I wanted to discuss is how awful he looked vs Froch. I think that firstly, his confidence is way down due to the thrashing he received at Ward's hand and it showed, and secondly, his new trainer is trying to implement a new style as a result, but it neither suits him, or is appropriate. He looked like an old dog trying new tricks versus Froch and his performance suffered because of it.

I think what he needs is to perfect what he already does and learn to trap the faster fighters like Ward and Dirrell. Him trying to fight more slick and evasive is something that would take a good year of practice before being implemented. He's fighting the "elites" of the super middleweight. Now is not the time to learn on the job, but to perfect what you do and fine tune some areas.

  • all boxing fans, watch showtime's Fight Camp 360 episodes?

I love this production. In my opinion it's way better than the 24/7 series which only looks for soundbites now and staged controversy. In all fairness though, the Fight Camp for the Super Six has the advantage being that they can show events leading up to a fight, during the fight and after the fight, as well as there being many more fighters involved. Regardless though, FC 360 provides a much more real introspective into the boxing game. Watching the expressions and reactions of the family members, promoters and managers ringside is so real.

  • David Haye versus the Klitschkos because...?

He beat an inactive John Ruiz?

Come on. Let's stop foaming at the mouth over this one. Let's get the guy ready first before he faces either of the twin towers of terror. I'll say it again, all these contenders and prospects need to face each other before being thrown to the Klitschko's as soon as they show any hint of skill.

  • Is it just me, or is Mayweather starting to look more like a smaller, uglier version of Shaq?

Anyone else notice that Floyd Mayweather Jr looks increasingly like a smaller, slightly uglier version of Shaquille O'neal as time progresses?

  • THOUGHTS? Here's a video post up on Yahoo! from Floyd to promote the upcoming 24/7. Weigh in w/your thoughts?

    http://sports.yahoo.com/video/player/box/18990550;...

    Link is above.

First thing I want to state is that I don't know why Floyd keeps ranting on how he is an entertainer and then in the same breath, say or hint that Pacquiao isn't. Sure, most other boxers are just boxers. But, for one, Pacquiao puts on more fan friendly entertaining fights, AND has several other ventures outside of boxing. Floyd's trash talking may be entertaining, but Pacquiao is definitely an entertainer in many ways.

  • Conflict of Interest? Golden Boy and the Ring Magazine?

How much of a conflict of interest is it that Golden Boy owns the Ring Magazine? Initially, some boxing journalists voice some concern or disapproval of the purchase when it happened in 2007. It is certainly good that a major company was there to pick up the historical yet ailing publication.

  • Tournaments: A Puerto Rican round robin?

Years ago there was some allure to a hypothetical round robin tournament of the 4 Puerto Rican (whether island born or bloodline) welterweights. Today, much has changed, but the 4 are still respectable fighters and in close fighting weight classes. How would a tournament between Miguel Cotto, Luis Collazo, Kermit Cintron, and Carlos Quintana have played out 3 or 4 years ago. How would it play out if such a tournament was arranged this year?

  • Has Floyd Mayweather started a trend of baseless steroid accusations?

Is this the new way to discredit a fighter? Would fans be justified in assuming Dirrell was on roids because he looked impressive versus Abraham and didn't get tested after the bout?

  • Watching Fight Camp 360 for the Showtime Super Six Championship?

Shows like HBO's 24/7 and Showtime's Fight Camp 360° are good for boxing. 24/7 relies more on sound bits and hyping the fight, whereas the Fight Camp episodes provide a better insight into the lives of the fighters and how the fights affect not only them, but their family. This is probably because reactions of the fans, trainers, promoters and family of the fighters can be show in the episodes that proceed the event. Watching Jermain Taylor's wife and his mother expressing such strong emotions during his bout with Abraham really drives home the reality of the sport. It is not only demanding on the fighter, but taxing on his loved ones as well. His wife screaming "Is he OK?" while they attended to him in the ring is one of the realest boxing moments caught on film. We truly owe it to show some level of respect to all fighters who lace up and sacrifice so much for the love of the ring and to our entertainment.

  • Quoting Allan Scott of Max Boxing...?

"Well, should “Pretty Boy” step into a ring with the same Shane Mosley that fought Antonio Margarito, he’s a done deal. There is no way he beats THAT Mosley."

Seriously? Is this guy a boxing journalist or some guy that just started boxing this year? Seriously? No way he beats that Mosley? For real?

  • DANA WHITE SIGNS JAMES TONEY?

Is it better for Toney to fail miserably or to see success in the UFC? I'd assume White will match him w/ someone w/great ground game to prove his point that boxing is on its way out. Anyway, here's the article:

great picture of James Toney sitting there on his stool, looking like he's in need of a coronary.

  • Quoting Kevin Iole...thoughts?

"And Mayweather, who has been dogged by some fans and others in the media as being afraid of a tough fight, will finally be able to shed that label. [HERE'S THE PART TO DISCUSS:]

There is no tougher fighter he could have taken. A bout with Pacquiao would have been difficult. So, too, would a match with Williams. None, though, would have been more demanding than the one he took against Mosley." - Kevin Iole, Yahoo Sports, Opportunity knocks...(Feb 3, 9:56PM)
