Army Medic and all year rider. Motorcycle enthusiast for over a decade.
When did the government start deciding I should live?
I know this has been going on for a while but when did the government decide that I should live to a ripe old age by forcing safety on everyone.
EX. Motorcycle helmets must be worn in most states. Seatbelt laws. No smoking indoors in several states. When did this all start?
On top of telling me how to live now they simply increase tax on products that are "bad". Tobacco-Only what helped found this country. The first product of the US.
When did life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness change into long life, limited liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that conforms to societies approval?
Kind of a ranting question but I am curious when this all started.
3 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhy all the hate for POGs?
I'm a line medic in an Infantry company but people from other units still have the nerve to tell me I'm a POG so I'm living some kush life while they are in the suck. Don't you realize that without POGs you wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING?
Like your pay? Thank a POG. Like your FOB? Thank a POG. Like having medics treat your wounds? Thank a POG. Like getting around in your MRAP or HMMWV? Thank a POG.
We are on the same patrols, carrying the same gear (or more), held to the same standard as you (weapons qual/APFT), but still people hate on us POGs. I understand some have it easy compared to Infantry but before you rag on them understand that while Infantry is the heart of the Army it doesn't work without the support elements.
