  • What's the legal term in English for someone assuming the right to collect debt?

    Here is the situation.

Person A borrowed money from B. B borrowed money from C. Now, B can't pay back his debt to C, so B is transferring his right to collect debt from A.

I'm trying to translate a contract for this situation and I'm already having a problem translating the title of this contract. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Unused stamps on envelopes?

I prepared almost 30 Christmas cards. They were all ready to be mailed. Then I realized that I made a mistake that I really had to correct. So I had to open them and redo the whole thing. I prepared new envelopes and put new stamps on them as I couldn't use the envelopes I originally prepared. (I had to tear them to open.)

If it were only a few stamps, I'd give up, but since it's worth over $10, I thought I'd check into it. I checked the USPS website, but I couldn't find the answer I'm looking for.

Does anyone know if the USPS would replace those stamps if I cut them out from the envelopes and bring them to the post office? (I don't have to get refund for them.)

If you could put the source for your information, that would be great. Thanks so much!

  • Courtesy action before martial arts matches?

Before martial arts matches, the players create a fist with their right hand and have it meet their left palm in front of their chest. Sometimes they bow, too (I think) Does someone know how this courtesy action is called in English? (It's written like 抱拳礼 in Japanese if it helps ^^; )

The link below has a picture of this action:
