How to downshift when going uphill?
I've been driving manual for only a week so I'm still learning. Coming home from work there's a huge hill and I find that when going in 5th I cannot go faster than say 68 kmh. I know I should downshift but I'm not sure how to do it. Won't the car start jerking? Eventually I would like to learn the heel and toe technique but let's keep it simple for now. Sorry for the newbie question, I know it's probably dumb to those who know. And thanks for your answer in advance!
I have a 2007 Honda Civic

I have a final tomorrow, and my book is not really good at explaining what these theories are and the difference between them. I'm taking sociology of deviance by the way.

I am taking a course on adult development. It says that the 3 building blocks of studies in developmental psychology are
-age effects
-cohort effects
-time of measurement
but I don't really get the difference between the cohort and age effects. Please help!
