1 AnswerHistory3 weeks agoAre there any sources either from Wikipedia or outside of Wikipedia that discuss how Lentulus died?
[20][21][22] In 45 BC Tullia divorced him and gave birth to a son named Lentulus at her father's house, some weeks after the birth she died of complications and the boy is suspected to have died young[23][24][25] since his grandfather Cicero does not mention him after 45 BC.[26] .
7 AnswersHistory3 weeks agoWhy isn't more awareness directed towards the genocide campaign against the Samaritans whom believe themselves to be the original Israelites?
The Samaritans believe themselves to be the original Israelites and believers in Yahweh, and not orthodox Jews that apparently only took up the Israelite religion after the babylonian exile.
However the Samaritans were almost wiped out during a genocide campaign.
Why is no awareness and sympathy directed towards the Samaritans that dedicate themselves to helping others?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samaritans
Once a large community, the Samaritan population appears to have shrunk significantly in the wake of the bloody suppression of the Samaritan Revolts (mainly in 529 CE and 555 CE) against the Byzantine Empire. Conversion to Christianity under the Byzantines also reduced their numbers. Conversions to Islam took place as well,[17][18] and by the mid–Middle Ages, Benjamin of Tudela estimated only around 1,900 Samaritans remained in Palestine and Syria.[19]

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality4 weeks agoWhy is poppy day becoming banned, but holocaust remembrance becoming more encouraged?
Fifa’s poppy ban: the latest remembrance outrage.

Mayor and Assembly to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day online
https://www.london.gov.uk/press-releases/mayoral/h... .
It seems there is a campaign to ban remembrance day as it could be offensive to remember to non Brits remembering all those Brits that died in the war.
However whilst Fifa, the BBC and other institutions make headlines for respecting the wishes of campaigners to ban poppy day, the opposite is true for Holocaust remembrance day which is being respected by the authorities and encouraged with London mayor Sadiq Khan even supporting plans for a Holocaust remembrance museum in London.
What is going on?

Polish minister backs call for 'Polocaust' museum
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/02/21/europe/poland-m...
I am aware six million Jews died in the holocaust, but I was less aware until relatively recently that approximately three million non Jewish Poles also lost their lives in the Polocaust. In fact, the fact I had been unaware was largely due to the fact that no-one ever told me this and it is not really very well publicised, and that made me a little angry.
Should more awareness be raised regarding this event? Or was it only three million? Or should the past just remain in the past?

13 AnswersHistory4 weeks agoWhat is behind the phenomenon described by J. J. Goldberg and Alan Dershowitz? Is it simply hard work and talent?
J. J. Goldberg, editorial director of the newspaper The Forward, in 1997 published a study of this myth regarding the United States,[39] concluding that, although Jews do hold many prominent positions in the U.S. media industry, they "do not make a high priority of Jewish concerns" and that Jewish Americans generally perceive the media as anti-Israel.[40]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitic_canard#C... .
Scholar Alan Dershowitz said of the subject: So let's stop all this nonsense about Jewish control over the media and praise those individual Jews who, by dint of hard work and talent, have earned their place, as individuals, in so many areas of American life. I always thought that was the American dream.[50] .
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antisemitic_canard#C... .
J. J Goldberg whom is himself Jewish admits that Jews do hold many prominent positions in the U.S. media.
Scholar Alan Dershowitz whom is also Jewish says that it is simply because those Jews are hard working and full of talent that have earned their place as individuals.
Now let us not lie to ourselves. Judaism is a minority religion unlike Christianity and Islam and a disproportionate amount of Judaists find themselves in high society. I am not saying this is because of any nefarious conspiracy. Is there something about Judaism or Jewishness that makes Jews more hard working and talented than Christians, Muslims and Atheists?
