Why does the ice stick to the hand when you try to pick them up?

    it wont if your hand is wet !! if your hand is not and ice is also dry (just taken out) it freezes the moisture(very little) in our hand between the lines (which causes finger prints) with it and hence sticks and can sometimes be painful.

    The ice is normally colder than 0 Celsius, so when you pick them up, the ice directly in contact with your hand will melt first (a thin layer only), and the other part of the ice will freeze it again. So it sticks to your hand.
