What happens if I drink the black particles from a tap that has been filtered using Activated Carbon + filter?

I recently have one Activated Carbon filter installed in my kitchen tap about 1 month ago. Sometimes, I do see some black tiny bits of flake (as small as a tiny piece of salt) in my water.

What would happen if I had drank the tiny particles found in my drink?

It is just Carbon, it might clean you out a bit, but that is it. You may get a litlle Nausea and a little Diahea. That tiny amount shuoldn;t matter though

In the military, they tell us to eat it if we eat something poisonous or encounter Chemical warfare.

At the most, it will clean your guts a little. Otherwise, nothing. It's just a little carbon and won't hurt you. BTW, you're supposed to run it for several minutes after installing a new filter to get the loose particles out.

nothing...they are part of the filter system which contains charcoal, and they won't hurt you...

Source(s): I have a Britta filter and get the same thing and I drink them and haven't died yet
