scratches on hard wood floors......anyway to fix them?

A furniture scratch crayon..matching your floor color...you can get them at the hardware store or furniture dealer...and a coat of wax...Pledge One Step floor wax is the best for this, and works even on deep scratches. In the future take an old towel and rip it up into pieces and place it under the legs of the furniture before you move it around so you won't put more scratches into the floor. All good answers, To help prevent scratches, we found these really neat felt self stick pads. They come in various sizes and shapes. Are easy to cut and apply and relatively in-expensive. We have put them on the bottom of the legs of every piece of furniture that is in contact with our hardwood floors. Even use them on ceramic pots etc that are on wood furniture. You can get them at a lot of different stores.

Don't fix it until the kids are grown and the dog is dead. You will just have to fix it again, if you do. Cover it with a throw rug or something, if it bothers you (that will also stop the damage). I have the same problem. The dog is 15, going on 16 and the kid is on her own. Area rug is still in place. Otherwise, rent a buffer and see if polishing the floor will help first.

minwax makes a stain pencil, all depends on what finish too! did they stain it or is it natural with a urathane, is it oak or ???? depending on how critical you are a brown shoe polish would work. try a spot underneath one of those dressers you've moved and see whats gonna work the best. good luck

i have effectively used lemon oil rubbed into the scratches, find it at the super market. if they are really deep, you might need to refinish the floor, check your yellow pages for hardwood floor refinishing..
