I thinking of moving to Las Vegas. Any one know what Henderson area is like, is it a good place to live??

I'm not worried about schools as my daughter is grown. I just want to live in a decent area. Or is there an area better than Henderson? Thks in advance for any info you can give me.

The newer part of Henderson is really nice. Green Valley and Anthem are great area that are affordable. If you have some money Seven Hills is beautiful. Henderson has lots of restaurants and stores going up. You can get on the 215 beltway, the 95 highway or the 15 interstate really easy. Without all the strip traffic slowing you down weekend getaways to Cali cut about 40 minutes off the trip. Madeira Canyon in Anthem have some great starter homes.

Scott H answered this question very well. I just wanted to add that Summerlin is a VERY nice area as well as the ones he listed- and has a good size price tag to go with the houses. Lake Las Vegas is also considered nicer, and probably the most expensive in the valley. Singer Celine Dion owns a house out there as well as some other celebrities and sports players. If you are wanting to stay in the Henderson area I would suggest Green Valley, Seven Hills, Anthem and some parts of Silverado Ranch.

Henderson is highly populated, but not quite as conjested as Las Vegas. There is lots of shopping and car dealerships. Lots of devopments. If you are looking for less populated, Boulder City, Jean, and Primm are within half an hour. Going further on are Searchlight, Laughlin, and Kingman. (Land is real cheap in Arizona, but will sky rocket when the bypass opens-if you are looking to invest in the land you are buying.)

The general cost of living is higher in Henderson, (than Las Vegas) but things like car insurance is considerably cheaper in Henderson.

I hope this helps and Bon Voyage

Henderson, and the southeast corner of Vegas in general, is much nicer than the west side. It's already well established, less congested, and still very close to the Strip. Houses aren't any more expensive, and mine was way cheaper when I bought two years ago, and you're more likely to get a little more land.

Its a very nice place. I live in Henderson myself. I go to Green Valley, very, very nice school. In used to go to Greenspun. This was also a very good school. My sister goes to Gibson, which is also a pretty good school also. I wouldnt be worried. Your in the good part of Nevada.

Henderson has it all. You should be able to find houses in any part of town for going prices.

Boulder city is better in my mind, no casinos, less crowded, I would look there.

Henderson is nice, and a LITTLE upscale from Vegas, but if you want REALLY ritzy, live in Summerlin (or Snobberlin as locals call it).

Source(s): I live in Las Vegas, and have bartended at parties in the exclusive, gated communities of Summerlin.
