Would kicking a paper towel dispenser off the wall in a bar bathroom and starting it on fire be considered arson, even if there was very little property damage, in wisconsin. What would the likely sentance be .

If you light a fire, and the thing you burn is not in an approved location for that, and is not your property to begin with, then yes. That's arson.

It is destruction of property (Vandalism) you broke something that was not yours. Also, those dispensers are not cheap. So there may be more damage than you think.
Setting fire to someone else's property is arson. As for the sentence, it depends on what you are charged with, if you are just charged with criminal mischief, probably only restitution and a fine. If Arson, then you could be looking at a couple of years in prison. Most likely you will get probation and restitution.

First, they would call it arson becuase what else would it be. The states attorney will paint the person as the worse criminal. Too bad you didn't say your cig lit it on fire so you ripped it off the wall and threw it in the garbage to protect the building.
Who ever this happened to ensure you get an attorney!!!

It could be considered arson, yes. The sentence depends on if the bar was occupied at the time, etc. Get a lawyer. Fast.

That is still considered arson. Not sure of the sentence though.

It would be disrespectful, and you'd most likely be fined for damage to property. Probably arsen, as well, as its just plain stupid to do that indoors. Its up to the bar to press charges.

Yes. But it would also depend upon how much damage the whole incident caused. If you only burned the paper, not much would happen.
