Bulletin Board Ideas? The sayings would be for middle school students.?

I'm looking for beginning of the year bulletin board ideas, such as the saying "Hop into a new year!" with frog decorations, etc.

Each year I like to do something different. I have several resource books and have checked the online resources over the years. I'm looking for fresh ideas and/or ones that you have tried. It does not have to be a premade bulletin board set from an educational store, in fact I enjoy making a unique display instead.

I need this for above my set of middle school lockers, so nothing too elementary please. Maybe you have ideas for sayings using things middle school students enjoy: music, movies, food, skateboarding, etc.

I like to get the artwork and work done during summer vacation so all the pieces are ready to put up on August.

Enjoy your vacation! :)

There is an older phrase, "My future is so bright I have to wear shades". It is appropriate for August and a new year. You cut out different designs of sunglasses to use. You can place these at the corner of, for example, book jackets, student work, page of rules, etc. or in your case perhaps on each locker.

Btw, one year that frog you mention sat on his lily pad all year on my board while I changed his hat (which I had added) for each month. Made things simple I only changed the main content while he became -- well, let's ssay we would have missed him.

    Middle School Bulletin Board Ideas

Why not label it, "This is Why I'm Hot!" (it's a popular hip hop song)? Then you can have each student make a little collage about themselves to fit over their locker. To tie it into Language Arts, you can have the students write about what they included in their collage and why. Also, to meet their Speaking and Listening Standard, you could have each one present it in front of the class- it works as an icebreaker too. Finally, after each kid goes over their collage, you could play "Name That Student". Give three clues about what a student wrote about their collage and have the class guess who the student is.

    Good luck!
