TESOL or University of Cambridge CELTA?

I have always wanted to teach english in countries who uses english as a foreign language.

I read up on TESOL and CELTA... and i am not sure of which to consider on.

But because i read that TESOL is for people who wants to teach english BUT is not a native speaker.

I studied english as a 1st language since elementary school because its a national criteria.

Doing my degree next year in Australia.

Any advice?

Or do you think that neither of them is important and needed?

Take it from me, a hirer and firer of EFL teachers for 10+ years, CELTA is definitely worth the time, effort and cost. It's a difficult course, and would be harder still for non-native English speakers. But I would highly recommend it. The TESOL is so-so.

Both are a colossal waste of time. Most foreign schools will hire you if you have it or not.

Or you can buy one (seriously) in Bangkok on the streets. No one will ever check on it.
