You can't shorten Ava. A nickname is not just a name shortened, it's another name someone gives you like Chickie or Princess. If you didn't like Ava then why did you pick that name, what is it you think you can shorten it to? A nickname usually comes from something you do or are known for, not just something people pull out of a hat! Call her what you named her!!!!!

I think its so short that you can't really shorten it anymore. Ava Jolie is a really cute name by the way.

My nickname when I was little was Bean sprout, you could just come up with something that isn't related to her name.

Ava is one of those names without a nickname. Just use a term of endearment if you want to call her something else. My son is Ethan and I call him Smethan (rhymes with Ethan). It's just a silly little thing, but it's ours.
