Help, the only music my son likes I can't stand!!!?
My almost 7 month old just adores rap. I mean he can be in the middle of throwing the biggest fit and throw on some 50 cent or Eminem (sp?) and he transforms into this happy ball of energy that just wants to bounce.
I HATE rap. It's Daddy's fault that he has ever heard this music. I am currently sitting here wondering if I own earplugs as I have the music playing since it does make my son happy. I think what bother's me the most about rap is the lyrics. Anyone know where I can get some intrumental rap? Or recommend some baby friendly rap?
I speak French and so will my son so French rap will be just as bad!

Kids Bop, its the same music made kid friendly,
My husband has gotten my daughter into some music with quite the not so nice lingo, and I find kids pop is ok, or go to K-mart to by the CDs, (they only sell censored Material)
Which stinks for dad, but helps with a childs vocabulary not getting vulgar. Good luck.

Have you ever heard of the kids show "Hip Hop Harry"
It is all about rapping but it's kid friendly.
Maybe you could burn some Hip Hop Harry Songs onto a cd (or buy him the dvd?)

I'm right there with ya, only my son is 3, and can repeat what they say. My hubby remedied this situation by buying a Daddy Yankee cd, which is Spanish rap.

you think you hate his music now?? wait till he's fifteen! At this age, babies love anything with a strong beat. I always figured it was because of listening to the strong heart beat in utero. I have a grandaughter who thinks Il Divo is the stuff. her brothers listen to what thier dad listens to, Rob Zombie and what ever. It will change often.

this problem will never go away... you will always hate the music our son listens to, its the law. At least he is too young to understand or repeat the lyrics. Try introducing him to other music types though. It is good to appreciate many types

There is actually a large amount of french rap and hip hop. At least then you wouldn't understand it ;-)

How about trying some kid cd's? With funny, bouncy songs?
Or some stores (Walmart for one) only sells kid friendly music. No swear words.
