What new thing are you doing with your baby?

I've found part of having a baby that is growing and learning and curious is having fun with new stuff! Today's new adventure is with food, we are trying kohlrabi. It's currently cooking on the stove and smells like cabbage (which it should because it's part of the cabbage family). I love trying new foods with my boy, the faces he makes are priceless!

We also try to go somewhere new at least once a week, whether it's a new store, a friends place, walk through the neighbourhood, etc...

New toys, I try to pull out a few "new" things from the toy box every week and put away some of the things he doesn't have an interest in.

What kind of new adventures do you enjoy having with your little ones? What are you doing today to stimulate your little ones love of learning?

Last weekend, I stuck my 7-week old in a snowsuit, threw him in a soft carrier, and walked around outside in a blizzard. I was soooo excited to see how he'd like it, and...he was asleep before I got out the door.

Two weekends ago, I took him swimming. He fell asleep in the pool.

I can't wait for summer, so I can take him to Asbury Woods, a fantastic nature center that's handicap-accesible, making it very easy for moms to hike with baby, as there's a boardwalk all throughout the woods. I like to go in late May, when the first batch of tadpoles have hatched and there are tiny frogs everywhere. I did this with my first son, and he was scared of the baby frogs (no bigger than the tip of his thumb). I have a great picture of him screaming at this teeny-tiny frog, and it's hilarious!

No matter what I try to do, baby always has a different agenda...

I know, I can not believe how fast time flies .

I pretty much do the same things as you. My son had a fear of water. Even in the bath, so I have recently started taking him swimming, which is fantastic!! His confidence as really built up and he loves the water and colours of the different floats and toys they have there.

I also like to take him to a children's farm where they had ducks, squirrels, hamsters. Small animals. Which is really good for him, to learn new words and about how he needs to be gentle with small animals.

We're going to the aquarium tomorrow. First time, so lets hope e enjoys it.

I have a toy box also full of toys that he has lost interest. I just swap the toys around on a fortnightly basis and it is amazing how he can have so much excitement for a toy that has been put away for a few weeks.

I love making him all different types of food. I've just started to introduce him to Caribbean food minus the spice which he is loving at the moment. I look for friendly toddler recipes on the Internet for ideas. I also love the faces he pulls. He is coming up too 2 years and still he pulls funny faces at foods he doesn't or does like.

We took Noah, 15 months, to Sea World Saturday and we took him to the Austin Zoo last week. He's an animal lover! He doesn't really care if it's a cow, goat, or killer whale...he loves them all :)
