semi walking at 7 months!!!?

My son has just blown my mind. He is in his playpen, hanging onto the edge and walking back and forth, hand over hand. When he is crawling on the floor, anything high enough to grab onto and he's trying to pull himself up. Help, I am not ready for him to be walking yet! He's too little, he's 7 months, heck I wasn't ready for him to crawl!!

Do you ever feel like your little one is just growing too fast? And for Mom's of older babes, how long between the walking using something to support him to letting go and taking off on his own? Would it be worth it to get him a walker toy (I've noticed most say 12m+) or should I just let him be? Where can I get him a helmet and body pads? (Just kidding on that one, sort of)

my twin girls were walking round the furniture at 8 months and could walk unaided at 11 months it was a nightmare!! i never really put them in the playpen, so once they were walking and i tried to stick them in there for a bit of peace they screamed the house down. i suggest you get into a routine of putting him in his playpen at certain times of the day,so that when he is walking around and getting his mitts into everything you can put him in his pen to play when things get too much. good luck and what a lovely looking little boy!!

Well my 6 month old isn't crawling yet so I don't have answers to all of it, but I wouldn't get a walker. Apparently they actually delay the development of their muscles so I guess just make sure he has a safe place to try to walk if that's what he wants to do :)

Yes, I do feel they grow up too fast lol, I don't know how I would react to my boy walking at 7 months! lol

my 4th child walked @8 months without support don`t get a walker let him go! wow but our entire family would hold his hands and walk with him it was about a month before he could go solo and it maybe the helmuts not such a bad idea it won`t be long after walking that he`ll try to run when he is exited

just let him be. that is awesome. my daughter who is now 9 yrs old skipped crawling and went straight to running at 8 1/2 months. there is no precise time between hanging on and letting go it is all in his confidence and you are doing something very right if he is confident enough to hold himself up and go without you holding him. very good MAMA!!!
