do i need to refile my taxes for 2007 to get the rebate check later this year?

I also Claimed my Grandmother for 2007. Does she need to file or will i get it. all she gets is Social Security

    1. If you filed your 2007 federal income tax, your rebate will come automatically, assuming you are eligible to receive one.

    2. Your grandmother will not get a rebate since she is a dependent. You will not get an extra rebate for her since she is not under 17.

    As long as you filed a tax return you've done all that you can.

    Your grandmother is not elibigle for any rebate as she's claimed as a dependent. You don't get anything for her as she's not your child and is most likely over age 16 as of Dec 31, 2007.

    no you dont have to refile. the checks will start coming out starting in may depends on if you got direct deposit on when you get it. you can go to www.irs.gov for the schedule to see when youll be getting yours.
