Stimulus Check?

I filed my taxes for 2007 back in February. However, because my parents still claim me as a dependent, I did not claim myself. Will I still get a stimulus check even though my parents are claiming me as a dependent?

Sorry, no you will not qualify. The IRS website states that anyone who was claimed as a dependent on somoene elses tax return does not qualify for the rebate.

If your status changes when you file your 08 taxes (ie if you are no longer being claimed as a dependent) then you will have a second chance to claim the rebate with your 08 tax return.

No dependents will not get rebate check. Also your parents will not get any extra rebate if you are 17 in 2007.

IRS began the transfer economic stimulus payments from April 28, 2008, and many have already seen the payments in their bank accounts. Those who opted for direct deposit will be the first to get the rebate. Mailing of paper check will begin from May 16. Those with last two digits of SSN between 88 to 99 will get paper check after July 4, 2008.

For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligib...

Dependents will not get a check.

If your are 17 or over, your parents won't get a rebate amount for you either.

    No. Dependents don't qualify.

However, if things change next year, you might.
