Best digital camera?

I would really like to get a camera that takes clear, high quality pictures and hopefully isn't TOO expensive. I'm tired of the cheap cameras where everything has to be perfectly still to take a good picture. My friend has a Canon (can't remember the exact name) and it takes great pictures, so I was thinking about getting something made by them. Any suggestions about which to get? Prices? Links or places to buy one?

    i LOVE LOVE LOVE my canon powershot SD870 IS digital elph. Wonderful photos, some great features, it fits in my pocket, I adore it.

    You can get it practically anywhere. TigerDirect.com, Target, Best Buy, etc.

    one my my older cams is a canon which requires film, but it takes the best pictures..i want 2 upgrade 2 a dig. cam im definelty goin w/ canon again
