Kyle asked in SportsAuto RacingNASCAR · 1 decade ago

How many more times?

How many more times will Kyle Busch fans claim he is the best driver, just because he is number one in the points standings. Someone just asked a little while ago how many races since Jr's last win (it was a Kyle Busch fan who asked), obviously boasting about Kyle Busch's wins so far.

Well, if you ask me. They should stop showing off all of Kyle Busch's wins when a guy with 0 wins this year is in third place. You have to remember, Kyle Busch (in my mind) is still a rookie. The guy is just down right reckless, and is a "polar opposite" of what NASCAR needs. Most true NASCAR fans don't want drivers to wreck drivers intentionally, or say they will for a win.

This crap all started when people started to insult the late Dale Sr. by comparing the two.

Kyle Busch needs to grow up. Maybe it just runs in the family. I remember Kurt being a hole, and you don't really hear anything about or from him.

Update:

To Kyle#18 Wrecks your fav Driver- looks like we need to learn how to spell.

I don't know what Whaaan Whaaan means?

Does it mean "official member of the Kyle Busch banwaggan?"

I'm sure it's going to continue to happen and I do agree with most here that folks that are claiming Kyle being #1 are just band wagon jumpers OR they are true KY "jelly" Busch Fans that are no longer embarrassed to be his fans.

I'll give him this, he does have talent, ???compared to Dale Sr???? by no measures, he may have some on track traits of Dale, but by no means is he anything like him. But he is a talented driver none the less. If any one remembers, Tony Stewart was compared to Dale a few years back and that died off pretty quick, and if anyone could be compared, Tony would be the guy.

Non-Jr fans can say all they want about his win-less streak, personally I dont care, the one thing I do know is that Jr will end up in victory lane much sooner than later and I do feel that when he does, he'll go on a terror for a little while.

my question is, "how many more times will someone get on and make such sweeping generalizations?" it makes nascar fans look like ignoramuses to those who aren't fans.

there are many reasons and many measures used by many people to justify their belief that kyle is the "best" driver (at least for right now) - not just his #1 points standing. for me, that's just the icing on the cake. the boy was a great driver before he ever hit the nascar circuit - and i measure that not only by performance but by his will to win, and his willingness to take some chances to do so - not just play it safe like various others i've alluded to in other posts.

and smack you're probably right as usual about what the cure used to sing about: "They're finally all the same, 'cause everyone's jumping everyone else's train." there are lots of fans in every sport who jump on the "next big thing" while it's happening, then forget just as quickly as they came. i give true junior nation fans a lot of credit there - they're as loyal as they come.

but not all of us kyle fans are "fair-weather fans." having gone to my first race while living in vegas many years ago, i latched on to the home town boys (the brothers busch that is), and have held on ever since - through kurt's rise and fall, and through the long 20th to 10th to 5th place finishes in the points for rowdy.

what i can't figure out is who is becoming more annoying - those people who continually claim that all kyle busch fans are junior haters (i'm certainly not - read my answers in this area and check out the junior gear in my closet), or those kyle busch fans that actually ARE only kyle busch fans because they hate junior. tough call there.

    ;-)

--kyle's #1 fan (and not a junior hater)

Some of the answers on this question talks about a lot of people wanting to be on Kyle Bush's band wagon cause he is winning, a true fan in any sport will support, they driver, no matter what, thats a true fan, wait until his time comes when he is losing where will his band wagon be then jumping on a different wagon., I personally have never like him and probably never will so there no need for any room for me on his wagon, he would probably thow me in the wall anyway because I don't agree with.. There are a lot of good drivers out there which have much more respect for there fellow Nascar buddies, Kyle Bush is not one of them.

Although I agree that many of Kyle's new "fans" are just Jr. haters, there are some that have been with him all along. Still it does seem there are more people on here using Jr. as an excuse to talk smack then there ever has been in the past. They are the same ones that claim Kyle is the best.

Again, there are Kyle fans here that don't. Just want to be clear. I hate when people say "all the Jr. fans", or "all the Shrub fans"....

  • well have you seen the kid race he gets better and better every year and youd be doin the same thing if kyle was on a 2 yr winless streak and jr were on the verge of having a 10 win season. and your rookie opinion, i agree imean rookies always lead the sprint cup series points, and have three wins before the all star race, yeah im being sarcastic. and when your driver is on a 2 year losing streak you shouldnt be bringin up arguments about how your drivers one of the best drivers in NASCAR. your like a fan of a winless football team sayin that your the best team, and could beat the superbowl champs but already got shut out twice by them. so 80 races from now when jr finally wins a race you can start boasting and sayin how great your driver is, it probably wont be a points race though.

    Who knows?

Active drivers all-time rankings are interesting. Kurt Busch is ranked 10th. Jr. is ranked 11th. There both tied with 17 wins but Kurt was the most recent winner.

    KYLE BUSCH is ranked 20th!

Shouldn't the bandwagoneers be all over Kurt Busch?

Last time I checked, 20th is twice as bad as 10th.

I also don't understand why they have to hate one driver to like another driver.

Since Jr. and Gordon are teammates now, did that silence that rivalry and Jr. haters jumped on the Kyle bandwagon so they could continue to hate Jr.?

    I don't get it.

They also cant grasp the simple title of "Most Popular". They like to skew the term with words like "Over-rated" and "Over-Hyped". He's niether of the two. People just like him the "most" wether he's winning/losing races or sitting on a lawn chair. Why is that so hard for them to grasp.

And as far as the points race win-less streak, they conveniently forgot that Jr. did sweep the '08 Daytona speed week races.

Yep more lies. Dude if you're gonna argue against someone at least throw some facts out there. Like name 2 drivers Kyle intentionally wrecked in the Cup series this year????? I'll be waiting. Its just burning you up that he's beating your driver every week isn't it?? Come on.

Of course we forgot Frankie. He beat 1/3 the drivers in 1/3 the laps of a normal race. Nothing to be proud of my man.

Sweeping speedweeks means winning all the above including Nationwide and Cup. Not even close.

GO "Smoke". I just hate lying propoganda out of jealousy.

Have yah got any data yet Mr. Banwaggan....lol?

well technically the active driver with the most champions would be THE BEST, that honor goes to Jeff Gordon

My questions in the nascar section usually have nothing to do with any specific driver, and are kind of random.

but I do see your point..

and for the record, I have nothing against Jr., as I've stated, my husband and kids are his fans, I wouldn't mind if he wins, my kids would enjoy it, and that would make me happy.
