I'm having a student teacher in the fall. I'm organizing a binder. Help brainstorm. What should I include?

Good question! Generally, I would say you have to imagine you've never been in a school at all and think about what you'd want/need to know. Some thoughts:

School related: map of school, list of adminstrators and office locations, school rules and procedures (little things like how to go in and out of cafeteria, behavior expectations in the hall, fire drills, etc)

Class related: Copy of scope and sequence from county/state, description of your behavior plan (whether specific or a general approach), list of class policies (bathroom passes, computer time, etc.)--If something like LA, list of novels or sources (so they can read ahead)

Additional: it might be nice to include a place for them to record plans and/or thoughts each day or a section to keep handouts from faculty meetings.

    Good Luck! :)
